Campground is in pretty good shape, paved spots which are pretty long. Only downside to the sites are long grass and the pavement is not level, took two blocks to get our trailer level. Shower house and laundry are in good shape and conveniently located. Now for our only serious complaints, organization of the reservations; we made our reservations and paid in advance and we were given a site number. Upon arrival that spot was already taken and nobody (host,...
Great campground, secluded on a nice large lake with a fairly well supplied shop which sells fishing permits and do canoe and kayak rentals. Spots are pretty nice with level concrete pads, a few are a little tough to back into but not too bad at all, the back in spots near the lake provide the best views. Previous reviewer is correct, two sewer hoses are a must for most spots. Bath house and laundry are a little far away...
This campground is very well ran and maintained, the location on base is very nice near the shoppette and the gates. Campground is about 45 minutes from Mount Rushmore and and hour and a half from Wind Cave National Park. There is a TON of things to do in the area and we will certainly be back. Our only complaint is that the shower house is locked at least at night, there was a severe thunderstorm warning one of our...
I agree with the previous reviewer, skip this place and head to one of the other military campgrounds nearby. Grounds are a mess, tall sporadic grass, when it rains mud flows everywhere so much so my spot had inch thick dried mud on it that I cleaned up. Reservations are very disorganized, you call and pay in advance but spots are not assigned and if you arrive after hours without a reservation you can just pick a spot. So we...
Great campground in a great location! The staff is awesome and we really enjoyed our two weeks there. The sites are very easy to get into with no issues and a good amount of space between you and your neighbor. Location is excellent with a ton of activities in the Tucson area including Saguaro National Park, Titan missile museum, Pima air and space museum, Tombstone, Bisbee, etc. Everyone was friendly and helpful, the base is in great shape with a...
Great campground in a great location, you of course can't beat camping on the beach for 30 a night! It is easy to get to once you get thru the LA traffic. The post is very nice but small, if you need something specific head up the road to Point Hueneme which has everything. As for the beach, it is very nice and clean, water was very cold but the best part is it might as well have been...
You cannot beat the location if you plan on exploring San Diego, very close to the football stadium, 15 minutes from Sea World, the Zoo, Lego Land, etc... Getting into the campground is not bad at all, right off the interstate and the hill is not too bad as long as you are not pulling a trailer too big for your truck. Hospitality and check in could use some work, office closes at 5 and they hardly answer the phone...
We came here primarily to visit San Francisco and the surrounding area and the campground served that purpose well. Only downside is you are pretty far outside of San Francisco so if you want to make daily trips it takes some time and planning. The best way is to go to the BART station in Pittsburg or one of the other ones near by, the station is about 40 minutes from the campground, it is a 50 minute train ride...
This campground is suited for just what we used it for, waiting for housing. Electric only with unlevel sites and lots of wind, iit is bare bones. You can fill up water and dump waste fairly close and you are on post just a mile or two from everything. The post has plenty of room and with a little effort and money could develop this into a phenomenal campground to support the post but doesn't look like it will happen...
This is one of the best military campgrounds we have stayed at, great sites which are all pull thru and paved and very large. The site is great with very nice and clean bath houses, there is also a great playground on site. The campground is in a remote area of the base which is nice and quiet except for the trains which are infrequent. They have fixed the flooding problem which is in the photos with a new bridge...
Nice campground with two very different sides; the nice wooded side was full including the FEMA trailers mentioned before which were empty, I assume they are rentals for the airmen on post to use which is a nice program, this facility is here primarily for them but these trailers look like they have seen better days. The other side is very open with soft gravel and huge spots, they are very nice but the wind was HORRIBLE and there is...
This is our new favorite campground it really has everything except for a beach or access to the beach within walking distance which is why we gave the amenities/facilities a 4, but the air force beach is very close. The sites are a little tight but are paved and have everything but WiFi. The price is incredible for what you get, super clean and enough to do that you could never leave the resort and still be happy. We will...
This is our favorite campground, the views are the best, the hosts are great, all hookups work great except no WiFi. The location cannot be beat especially for families, there is so much to do and is close enough to Disney World for a visit there. The neighbors are great; everyone is friendly. The bath house has everything you need but could use a little attention especially to get rid of a carpenter bee infestation, the base is great and...
One change to the directions, now when you enter the truck gate you just go straight to S Patrick Rd. No turns on west tech road anymore. This is a fantastic FAMCAMP, we really enjoyed ourselves and you cannot beat the location it is near everything. About 40 minutes from Kennedy Space Center and an hour and fifteen minutes to Disney or Sea world. Our campsite was about 10 feet from the banana river which made for fantastic scenery....
This campground is great and getting better, there are improvements to the park ongoing so far not many at the campground itself but it is nice to see some effort going into the facilities around it. Nice, quiet and well laid out this campground is one of our favorites we just wish they had sewer hookups. Doc and Lori do a fantastic job!
The set up of the campground is probably the best we have stayed at so far. The sites are spread out so you are not on top of your neighbor and there is plenty of trees so you don't feel like you are in a parking lot like at other parks. The camp host is great and met us at check in and led us to our spot. Our spot was pretty unlevel and the fire pit was full of...
