New grounds opened on 13 Jan 09 seem morning I left the old one. It is just inside the gate from the pass road entrance, you can see it and easy to find. Big spots for any size. Wifi was to be coming but in meantime they were going to let you use their pc's. Has cable also, rent is $315. Only problem I can see if HOMESTEADERS are allowed to stay forever it becomes very unfair for the rest...
New policy started in Oct. Unless student 90 day stay limit. Bathrooms need lots of work, showers dirty painting needed inside and out of building. Suppose to be no reservations but this seems to be not true depending on who you are. Are about 4 two weeks sites and you can go from overflow to one of them. BEWARE someone might get moved in front of you depending on who is in control of the office. Does not seem to...
Too bad its closing, what a big big mistake. That was one if not the best military site I have seen. Am beginning to think the NAVY does not take the cg business to serious. Last year visited the new one in Millington just north of Memphis. They were getting full rates with part of the grounds opened. A year before that they run one off base for half the price to stay and guess that got closed. Too bad....
Just went in to check it out without having RV along. Good thing. The RV's are closer together than anything I have ever seen. Wonder why??? Rest of place looked great, price was fair. I would never think about going there unless was staying in one of the apts or cabins. My idea with the RV is to have some room to walk or look out of the RV. No place to park vehicle either. And no idea what to...
Was there in early Nov 2006. See nothing has changed. Agreed with other raters. Think it is far over priced for what you get. Would not drive out of my way for 1 or 2 days to stay there unless needed lots of other things on the base. Too bad the one on the main base is all new and could really be nice with the right management, but have no change to these in the last 2 years. ...
I fully agree with the guy who rated this a one. We were lucky as we stopped by there without the trailer along. But had the same problems, dirty bathrooms, no signs for office, etc. Office women knew nothing and seemed like it was work to talk to you, also found this same thing when called on the phone. Price would be cheap if used Golden Access permit, conditions very rustic. The worst military one have seen so far. Could...
Cost to much for just hookups. No office, no internet, no bath house. Worth about $10 a night. Maybe when the Navy can find the money to finish it, than charge full price otherwise may be a while to raise the money. Also cannot wash anything while there. The older facility out at Navy Lake was cheaper.
