Make this review simple, next time in this area I will stay at any campground before staying here even if I have to pay $100 a day. Worst entry to park, no info given when registering. Sites a mess and on top of each other. Wasted enough time on this review, stay away.

Used this location to visit SF area including Napa Valley. Good experience, only recommend that you ask for a site that your RV entrance faces the office. This is unusual campground. They have sites that appear to be converted parking lot with added hookups and then the pull thru sites. Laundry facilities clean. I was told that they try to assign short term stays to the pull thrus. The pull thru sites are very nice, they are old and may have tree root distortion. I found mine level. This is the best campground I have ever been in. The sites are fully paved, an additional pad connected to the RV pad for parking your vehicle. The office is also the ticket office, the most helpful office staff. Take time to visit Seal Beach, nice beach area, nice shops, very touristy. Well I have to start to say I was here in June, HOT, HOT, HOT. sites are easy access, good room. The base is so small it surprised me. The only negative comment is when I used the showers there was no hot water, maybe since I was not in season it was turned off. Could not enjoy much since this time of the year the temp was about 108 daily. Time to move on to San Diego....

Location is great. this is the desert, so I have to expect that the ground around you is not grassed, only rock. the water quality was not good, I found it cloudy, thanks for the water filter. Sites are level, easy access, full concrete pads. I found no negative things other then it was hot in June, but this is Texas. I like that the camp was not on base and across the street is the gas station that accepts the Military Star Card to give you the 5 cent discount on gas. The golf course was nice for a desert environment.

We were there out of season so there was plenty of spaces. The spaces were excellent, level easy entrance. While there I visited the FamCamp, there sites were not comparable to Shields. Shields sites were all level and easy entrance and plenty of space between sites. Not so at the FamCamp. There is no question to it, shields is the best.

Second time here, and the addictions of sites are greatly improved over old sites. The old sites have permanent canopies installed which can present a problem with slide outs on door side. The new ones have no such interference. Nice level sites with large connected patio pad, all concrete. I enjoyed the jogging trail on side of road, just great for jogging or riding a bike. Facilities on the new addiction all have private one person...

It is a shame we will loose this park to it closing 2011. The location to the entrance of the Cheasapeake Bay is great to observe all shipping. I will come back again. The only negative thing is after a good rain there are locations of flood areas. My spot, South Carolina, the paved area was dry, but the grass area was swamped.

The back site do not have sewage but the sites are worth it. 8 large concrete pads with a gravel side area with another concrete pad for the aluminum pick nick table. There are 6 sites on the perimeter that have only gravel but are nestled in the surrounding woods. The laundry is not temp controlled with only one washer and dryer. This is an excellant facilitie.
