Very nice, quiet, well cared-for park. Sites are pretty level with full hookups. Exchange and Commissary are close by. The base facilities are typical and a lot of construction is currently going on. Boat launches are close. Nice bathrooms/shower stalls. Nice laundry facilities. That being said, the surrounding town doesn't offer much in the way of restaurants, although a few were not bad, so New Bern is probably a better choice if you want a decent place to eat....
Stayed in one of the cottages this trip. Cottages were fully equipped with dishes, cooking utensils, linen and some other things that were nice to have. The one bedroom cottage sleeps 2 so you get 2 plates, 2 forks, 2 spoons, 2 towels, etc. Maid service is contracted and the Reservation Center has nothing to hand out, so If you want more you must supply your own. Bring paper towels and napkins, as these are not furnished. The 1 bedroom cottages...

The camp host is friendly and helpful. It is very quiet and we saw little traffic and plenty of open sites. It is close to Charleston and the Charleston Air Force Base. Nice quiet Navy campground located in the heart of historic Virginia. Very clean with 50 diagonal back-in sites with full hookups including 30 and 50-amp power, water and sewer connections. There is also a picnic table and fire ring at each site. The sites are well maintained with grass being cut at least weekly if not more often. There are walking trails on the base as well as salt and freshwater fishing. A lot of animal life wanders the area....
Nice quiet park just outside Fort Benning. Good access to ALA Hwy 165 to avoid towing the RV through the base. Base facilities are fairly convenient but get a map of the base to get around. Diesel fuel is only sold at one station that I found. Check-in was a breeze and the campground is easily navigated. Our cost was $30 per day. I paid for 6 nights and got 1 free. Cell coverage was nearly nonexistent with occasionally getting...
