Nice location on the water. That's the only good thing I can say. It's full of fulltimers that live here permanently, one guy said he's been here 2 years. The fulltimers have the water view. Electric only, water and dump about a mile down the road. Grounds are unkept and dog feces all over even though there dog stations around. Sadly it looks like base command doesn't care about the campground.
Nice campground that is clean with concrete FHU sites and level. Ours the back faced the water. Only reason for the 2 star on amenities is that there is no bath house/ laundry facilities. SMALL base in a great location and about an hour from Outer Banks.
Can't say enough about this little hidden gem. Base is not very active and mostly on weekends. Mark the Camp Host is amazing and the place is clean! Happy hour bonfires, special events and very friendly.
Lotts Island is a no frills campground. The price is $30 a night and we got spotty WiFi, a fire ring that was destroyed and somewhat level site. We felt for the price there should be a bit more amenities and better up keep. We had a substitute camp host for 2 days then left on our own. The campground is right by the gate and it's a tight turn to get to it. Just outside the gate is an...
We have stayed at a fair share of the MIL Camps and this one was nice because it was close to New Orleans and secure. Bad news is that they really need to clean it up but maybe it's a New Orleans thing that they don't clean up stuff. The drive really needs a few loads of gravel to smooth out all the pot holes, I've seen nicer roads over seas! That or they can pave it, and empty the...
Great location and close to the beach. We stayed in the "old" section and it was loud with trains and traffic, highly recommend calling the campground directly and trying to get into the new park. Base is nice and it was fitting for our needs to take the kids to the beach. Biloxi is close by as well, overall we enjoyed it.
We have stayed here a few times as a halfway point going the New Orleans, Pensacola and Gulfport. Directions are spot on, sites are level and the dog park is always clean. Not a very loud campground and always clean. Very affordable too!
Overall we liked the campground but it's not very kid friendly. No playground or anything of the sort but there is a lake to go fishing in. There is also a rather decent size dog park. We didn't see the Camp Hosts, we did come in at 1900 on friday but never got greeted. Some of the other FamCamps had a community fire ring and 'Happy Hour" for us adults and that is something they should start there. Nice place...
Can't say enough about this place, great spot with private beach. Clubhouse has an unofficial BYOB happyhour at 1600 every day. The private beach is nice but no swimming allowed, you have to go down to Barrancas Beach to swim. The cabins are closed due to hurricane damage. Check out the lighthouse, the Air Museum is the best I've seen and very detailed. Whiskey Joes on Pensacola Beach is delightful as well. Close to everything!
This was our first time camping at a Mil campground and this place was great. No fire rings at the sites but there is a community one we used and made friends. Close to attractions and the staff at the Outdoor Rec center were very helpful and provide lower costing tickets to attractions. If you are going downtown to walk around I suggest you go the The Landing to eat and you can park next to it for $5 or...
