Reservations were a good idea in early November because of hunting season. The CG employee thoughtfully phoned ahead to let Dock & Lori know we were on our way in. When we pulled up, there was a wedding party across the street at lakeside, which gave us an immediate clue to the lush scenery. Most (all?) sites are nicely angled to the road, not perpendicular. Bath house was clean, bright, and stocked. The dump site may look like a challenge but we saw faint tire tracks in the grassy spur: some folks just pull straight up to it. (Let's hope they pave that spur someday.) There's at least one alligator in the lake, but he's an adolescent and a fisherman told us they only keep a lazy eye on him. We toured the WWII museum on Veterans Day and we strongly recommend it. Realize that any jaunt to Savannah is pretty much a day trip. Special instructions if you stop at the CG office in a big rig. You'll see a triangle intersection where a tank road crosses the main road and an office sideroad. DON'T pull over on the tank road like I did! :-) First turn right onto the tank road, then turn left onto the office sideroad, then pull your rig over.
