The value really kicks in when you stay for longer than 4 nights. If you pay for a week you are basically getting 3 nights free. The lack of shade is not good this time of year either. I am happy that they moved the long term campers to the back in spots. That make way more sense. The spots are all concrete and mostly level. Our site was not unfortunately. I had to add about 3 inches in the front and 2 inches on the passenger rear tires in our Class A to get level. The wifi was pretty good and the location has good ATT and Verizon signal. Also Security Forces is very good about opening the commercial gate rather quickly if you are entering or leaving after hours.

This is a wonderful, clean park. Nice concrete pads. There are no trees and few frills but if you are looking for a safe, clean park...this is it! Keith, in the office, makes it even better. He is SO accommodating and makes scheduling your stay, and even modifying your reservation a very pleasant experience.

The customer service is unbeatable! Staff very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Bathroom/shower house, and laundry facilities immaculate. Very nice level concrete pads, with a sizeable side yard. Nice picnic tables and grills provided. Large pond full of catfish with a fountain, nice walking trails and playground area. Very close to the BX and commissary. We will definitely stay here again! Highly recommended!

Although others have complained about the lack of attention they received by the manager when they arrived, I didn't count that as a negative. When we arrived there also was no one at the office to sign in with, and no indication of where I should park, I just selected a site, parked, and went to sign in the next morning. No problem. I agree that $35.00 daily is high, but we stayed for a week for $130, which figured out to be $18.57 a day;hence the 5 rating for value. If we had had a Frequent Camper coupon the average would have been even less. That park was the last for us to complete tier 6 of our book, so we bought a new one to start again. They do have the books, and promote the program; some bases don't have the books. The campground is new and therefore looks nice, and the sites are concrete and level. As noted, the sites are short. Each site has its own dedicated parking spot for a tode. Satellite works at every site. The base has hardly any amenities, including no club, and the dining hall was closed for renovation. The restrooms and laundry were neat and clean. As you drive toward the main gate, suggest you stay in the left lane, as it appears to be wider. The barriers were not a problem. I'd stay again, but not at the daily rate. There are some homesteaders, but there were still sites available.

Fam Camp just opened this past August. They had their formal Grand Opening while were there. They are still in the process of getting everything in order. Base Commander stated they had spent over 1 Million on the Fam Camp. Currently, you need to check in with Base Recreation which is just down the road about a block from the Fam Camp. Staff very friendly and open to suggestions. Will definitely return when in the Abilene area again. Directions to the Fam Camp are very accurate and easy to follow.

Stayed here while visiting my wife's mother in Abilene. Easy in and out and everything is brand new. The staff visit the camp a couple of times/day and were very friendly. My 10 day stay averaged $23/night. The WiFi signal is a little weak. Overall really enjoyed the stay here and will stay here anytime I'm in the area.
