Ft Bliss senior leadership should be commended for its dedication to its soldiers ACTDU and retired. This facility is a FAMCAMP showcase - clean, modern, well-run, well-maintained, friendly staff, and reasonably priced. Many ACTDU TDY students stay at the park. No reservations, first-com, first-served with stay limitations. As an example, there were initially ~10 spots open when we arrived on a Monday in mid-December 2018. All spots are ~60 foot pull-throughs with water, sewer and 50 AMP electric. Adjacent AAFES min-mart and Subway sandwich shop, with AAFES gas and diesel at a good prices, and maneuvering space at the pumps sufficient for large RVs/5th Wheels. No cable or campground-wide wireless broadband so plan to use your hot-spot, cable not required as plenty of over-air programming (you are in El Paso, TX proper, with nearby mountainside broadcast antennas). The area is subject to high winds so RVers with slides be forewarned to have straps to tie down your slide top-covers when the occasional ~50MPH wind gusts kick up to prevent billowing/un-spooling/slamming. winds were calm during our stay but the sloped park near the freeway (not noticeable with windows closed) has easterly wind exposure. The sprawling Ft Bliss base is cut up by numerous highways and surface roads. The campground is on military land and nearby the Fort, but outside the base security perimeter, in a reasonably secure area but without access control gates. Adjacent MWR RV storage is available, but there is currently a one-year waiting list.

Since it is FCFS, I called several times before we arrived to check on openings. I spoke with several different people, and no one mentioned that the bathrooms, showers, and family center are all closed due to COVID. We just spent nights at 2 different AF FamCamps, and all of their amenities are open. There is not consistency across military campgrounds on how COVID is being addressed. If you aren’t going to offer full amenities, lower your prices to reflect that and inform customers when they call.

Called from I -10 going west, at 9:30 am & was told there were 6 openings. Took the “less stress” directions. First visit since enlarged RV Park. Very nice. Good Sam couldn’t find cleaner, nicer bathrooms or showers. Great laundry & family room. Everything spic & span. The new PX on Post is the largest in the US. I simply couldn’t believe my eyes. So many name brand restaurants inside it, I can’t recall. The road noise Is a bit more than I’d like, but it can’t be helped. I’d give this facility and Ft Bliss and perfect 10. During our stay 4-6 spots open every day. If you call before the night host gets her nighttime report to the day crew, they can’t tell you how many spots are open. After 9 is best. Most departing RVs left about 10 am. Nice folks, Trent & Sophia!!

I have been here over the past few years and it seems like every time I come here that it gets worse.  This time there is a different breed of personnel staying here.  Some of them have this attitude that they can do any thing that they want to. Like driving the wrong way on one way streets, speeding (more than 10 mph), not trying to help keep things clean (like not flushing the toilet when finished), not closing the bathroom doors behind themselves, the laundry (this morning, it looked like some one dumped the trash all over the floor) and the pet area (they do not pick up after their pets, it is so bad that you have to tippy toe around so as not to step in dog doo doo).  The cleaning of the bathrooms are so so.  The shower curtains are way to short and some are not wide enough to close properly (like a narrow curtain is for a small narrow shower) which makes a mess on the floor outside the shower. They could do a much better job at it. The road noise is loud, but after being in other parks that are close to the road, it does not bother me to much. There are a lot of sites that looks like the people are set up to be permanent residents. Lot of clutter around their RV's.  This place could be one of the best military RV Parks in the system. The personnel who work here are very nice and friendly. I would have like to give it a higher rating but.

This was our second stay, so we knew what to expect. I had called a few times before arriving to make sure we had a chance at a site since it's a first come first served system. Each time I had called the office always said they had about 4 or 5 sites available so we felt pretty comfortable getting something. Due to Covid, showers and bathrooms were closed but the laundry facility was open.

Best military campground yet. Night host was personable and helpful--offered the $2.00 discount if I had the proper documentation (I did). Used the shower facilities and they were extremely clean. This was the only night of my trip that I had to pay and it was well worth it. I will certainly return in the future.

This is one of the best parks I have stayed at, With the new addition of spaces,bathroom/laundry are great.I would stay again. When I first read the direction it seemed confusing. I spoke with Camp Host and the ORIGINAL DIRECTIONS(was very easy to follow): From I-10, exit 22B (West Bound)and exit 22A (East Bound) go north on US-54E and take exit 25 (Ellerthrope). At bottom of ramp, stay in left lane and turn left at light, heading west on Ellerthorpe. Go through next signal and campground is on the left another block down the road. Signs showing where to turn. Enter campground gate, staying to the left. There are diagonal parking spaces for RV's to check-in at office, or the camp host directly behind the office.

This RV park is not on base but requires a military id. The famcamp office staff are very organized and friendly. The sites are FHU's with good water and electric, but restrooms are closed. The laundry was open and very clean with reminders of social distance and masks usage. There is some highway noise but at acceptable levels. Easy on and off the highway to the park. We will stay here again.

Wife and I enjoyed this park, and the town of El Paso. First the Cons: ENFORCE the rule to clean-up after pets have done what it is that pets need to do... it seems as though the piles that are left are from people that are walking BIG dogs - ugh, I would not want to clean up after them either, but they are your dogs, take care of them!!! Rules are Pit Bulls and Rottweiler's are restricted from the post, including the campground; but that is not the case, a Pit Bull is in the space next to us, and his owner is one of the ones that does not like to bend over and clean-up after his dog. Now the Pros: A very nice park, located very convenient to things to do in El Paso and surrounding area. The staff is cordial, and the dumpster are usually empty. There is an Express gas/convenience store right next the RV Park, and they sell Diesel at a very competitive rate. We will definitely return to this park when we are back in El Paso - hopefully the Pit Bull’s daddy will be elsewhere that weekend.

El Paso doesn't offer much in the way of quality parks, but even if it did, this park would stand out above the others. Paved interior roads, concrete sites and pads, sparkling restrooms, and a beautiful community center make this place special. Check-in was quick and friendly, and using our Golden Access pass resulted in a $12 day fee. Hookups are all centralized and work well. Restrooms were maintained in spotless condition. If given a choice, opt for the old section, which has trees and some shade; the new section has small trees and no picnic tables yet. The post is a short drive and has an amazing shopping area, the "Freedom Center", with huge PX, numerous shops, a 10-screen theater with first-run movies for $5, and restaurants, including a Buffalo Wild Wings. El Paso isn't exactly picturesque, but Sunland Park on the West side has good shopping and a casino. Surprisingly, the city claims it is the safest large city in America even though the border to Juarez is very close. No problem in the park, it's fenced and patrolled by military police. A great stay - one of the best parks in the system.

Nice park. Easy access off highway. We were headed East. Very busy park. Sites seemed to fill same day they emptied. Nice big concrete pads. Get an end site and you feel like you have a big yard! We travel with 40' fifth-wheel, and a Jeep pulling 8' trailer for motorcycle. Everything fit on the pad. Park is right next to highway so there is highway noise, but it wasn't too bad since the park is behind a wall. Not sure how that would be if windows/doors were open all the time. Clubhouse and laundry very nice. There's a Subway and shoppette right next to park. There are 2 dog walk areas; neither is fenced in. My first trip over there I was shocked that the ground was covered in dog poop. I was going to go back that evening after site seeing to clean it up but another camper (equally as grossed out) beat me to it. We chatted and she said that while she was cleaning two different people walked their dogs and didn't clean up. Really? The park provides pooper scoopers right there?!? That, was my only complaint and nothing management can really do about that.

We've been traveling for the last five weeks and have stayed at several military FamCamps. This one rates up there with the best. Spots are concrete with good location for connections. The grounds seem well-kept. Ft Bliss facilities are awesome. Only a few things that detracted on my part - the freeway noise can be very distracting and you might need earplugs at night. Also it would be a big plus if they would put in a WiFi setup for the entire park. Thirdly, some of the sites are very long term apparently, and some rules are not followed (i.e. a motorcycle being worked on, cargo trailer with other shop items around it, dogs left in the RVs unattended). Overall though we would definitely stay here again.

I have stayed here a couple of times and still wonder why the FamCamp is not within the confines of Ft Bliss. Anyone can walk or drive into RV Park without going through any security. That's one of the things I like about being around the military is the security. Being around El Paso/Juarez has a reputation with the drug situation. However, I seen the MP's constantly. The RV park has great amenities and has grown the last few years. I think they have done a great job. I was told upon check-in that as long as I picked up after my dogs, everything would be fine. It's a shame that the other folks there are not complying. Walking through the dog walk has many, many "obstacles". Hence my rating for cleanliness. Shame on the dog owners for their lack of compliance. I'll come back again. And one last thing, the PX area is the best I've seen on any military installation with existing store and the other major stores and restaurants soon to be added. Kudos for the approving authority on that.

RV Park is completely full and they have a wait list. The overflow lot is a complete joke and not to be relied upon unless you are a B or a Small C. The extremely slopped parking lot is used for employees that work at the school across the street and one Taco Truck Vendor. If you are just using this place as a stop over and are turned away, look up Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino, NM, it was good for a last minute stop over.

As stated in other posts, the approach is pretty tight and caution must be exercised. Check in was easy and the staff very friendly and professional. After we were set up, we returned to the office to information on the local area. The clerk handed me my ID card that I had inadvertently left behind... Oops... We toured the Post and went through the Ironsides Museum. All of which was very impressive. The shopping available on Post is amazing. Headed for the Boarder Patrol Museum today. The Fam Camp is one of the better ones we have stayed at. It is well maintained and clean. Yes, the noise of the nearby freeway is noticeable, however it didn't keep us awake. As it is at most Fam Camps, there is some homesteading going on. Our neighbor was one of those "Homesteaders". A "Wounded Worrier" with a prosthetic leg. He had been there a little over a month. It appeared the neighbors to the other side had been there quite some time. Bottom line, there was a site available when I needed it. We will certainly stay again should we pass this way.

We originally planned on staying here a week but due to some family issues wound up staying four weeks.  I have mixed feelings so I'll start with the good.  The sites are cement and level with more than enough space for an RV and truck.  There is not a lot of shade with only one tree at the site, which did bloom while we were there so that helped. No issues with the utilities although the water pressure did fluctuate daily.  The laundry was fine, although the room  could have been cleaned a little better.  Now the bad, anyone who says the road noise is bearable must be deaf because you hear it everywhere and at all times of day and night.  Our first site was at the back of the park nearest to Highway 54 and even with earplugs while sleeping, it was constant.  We moved to another site half way into the park and could still hear it.  Don't expect to sleep past 5:30 because that's when rush hour begins.  The quiet hours end at 5:00 AM so that tells you the park caters to the active duty living there.  Not one of the posted rules are followed and it's obvious.  More than one resident has three vehicles along with their RV and one even had a storage trailer along with three vehicles.  Many residents have so much junk around their site it makes the place look like a base housing trailer park.  Many have outdoor refrigerators, built in stairs and cars that looked like they haven't moved in months.  Others have complained about dog poop on the grass, which is very bad, but it's not only the grass where the dog walk is but in the rocks around the park and even in the roads.  Definitely the worst military campground when it comes to people not cleaning up after dogs.  We had a neighbor that would go outside to smoke at 6:15 AM and carry on phone conversations for over an hour.  Very little consideration among the long term residents there.  The only WiFi is at the rec room and when we tried to connect we had issues.  The park has lots of potential, despite El Paso not having a lot to do, but the rules need to start being enforced before it can live up to that potential.

We pulled in at 1830 without a reservation, really nice camp host gave us the choice of the two remaning empty spots. the sites are concrete and level. there is a dog "walk" that is grassy- nice but not an off leash area. it's a holiday weekend, lots of dogs, kids playing, very lively but perfectly quiet at night. except for the road noise as mentioned, that didn't bother us, we're city folks.

We spent one night here while getting medical attention at the nearby hospital. The just opened bathroom/laundry complex are outstanding. The six bathroom/shower units are unisex, so who gets there first does less walking. The new laundry contains a deep sink, five washers and dryers. What makes it unique is the inclusion of a commercial large capacity washer and dryer, which is capable of washing your quilts and/or sleeping bags. I received WiFi from inside the motorhome with no problem from site #86. The community room should be a model to other military campgrounds.

I stayed the weekend in a 30 foot RV. This facility is among the best I have seen. Construction is underway to double the size of the park. Friendly, great prices, super location; no complaints. The only down side I can identify is the close proximity to the 6 lane highway; traffic can be a little noisy at night if you are located near the west wall. But, that is a small price to pay for all you get. THUMBS UP!
