This is a heads up...have interests in the Omaha area, and received overheads of the Offutt AFB. The campground and all facilities are covered with water/flooded. Judging from the pictures and having stayed there a number of times, I’d estimate by at least five feet of water as the road in is not identifiable and it is above the base lake, which is barely identifiable. Only the tree line on the entry road can be seen. My guess will be months to repair. As the red building that takes reservations is flooded, it may be a while before they are answering the phones.

We stayed here for a week in a pull-thru site  and really enjoyed our stay. The sites are large and easy to get in and out. Nice picnic tables at each site, well maintained grounds, friendly camp host and Office staff. Great Fam Camp to stay at.
Our only issue was that we couldn't set up our satellite for southern exposure because of trees, and there isnt a dog park to our dogs play & run off leash. We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. Good Job Offutt!!

We arrived in Mid May and stayed until the tornado disrupted the park. It was beautiful then and the staff and camp hosts were outstanding and super friendly! Even though we all had to evacuate, the staff called us as soon as they opened the park back up and asked us if we would like to take first dibbs at a spot. That meant a lot to us and we can say for sure that we will be back because they made us feel like family. Thank you TeamOffuttFamCamp!! We will be back soon! Respectfully, Wendy and William Wolfe (Albany, GA)

Instead of taking hwy 370 paying a toll for the bridge and going through town, it's easier to take hwy 34 and go north on Harland Lewis Rd. FamCamp is on the right not far after the railroad crossing. The city streets are narrow and not fun to navigate a larger fifth wheel, my wife was medicated due to a head cold so I didn't get yelled at, lol. The spot we had required a 50' water hose and almost a 50' sewer hose. You can get a garden hose on base but not sewer hose, but Camping World is only 25 miles away.

This is a well managed RV Park. The most convenient way into the park is to take the directions off of I-29, and it is not what I would call an overnight stop, as it is a ways off of the major travel routes. However, staying here for a few days, seeing all the sites in Omaha and visiting the facilities on base (like a wonderful commissary) is a great treat. The park is clean, well maintained, and the staff, including the camp host are some of the friendliest and most attentive we've experienced in military parks. If you come this way, call first to make sure they have room, and then plan to stay a few days, you will not regret it.

R.L. left this review using the Directory software: - We called to check availability when we were about an hour out. Received good directions from the person manning the phone. We were assigned a pull through without requesting one, possibly because we were only staying one night. The camp was about 75% full. We spoke to several people about the narrow toll bridge and got as many opinions. Some said definitely stay away, others said it's fine, just go slow. When leaving we took E Mission ave over the toll bridge to I-29. yes it is a little narrow but no worse than many bridges and roads we've traveled. Unless you're a very nervous driver it's fine. The park has a lot to offer for recreation. The deck at the boathouse overlooking the river is a good place to relax in the shade. The hookups were a bit of a reach at the back of the site with the sewer drain in the neighbor's seating area. A nice clean quiet place except for the occasional train.

Was adding all FamCamps to my Google Maps list, and saw that the runway had been plowed up and all base housing near the Base Lake had been removed since our overnight in 2015. Came here and saw the flooding reports. Called the office and spoke to Mary today. She stated that they are beginning reconstruction of that area, and while they 'hope' to be open next year, sometime in 2024 is a more realistic date. They are open for TEN (10) tent camping and SIX (6) 30 foot MAX (tongue to bumper) towable sites, but there are ZERO facilities/hookups (think BLM land experience). She stated that the lake is open for fishing and kayaks, but still no motorized craft. Giving 3 star review to and 1 star for facilities, based on what she told me, but don't let that stop you from going if you can fit the size restrictions and get a spot.

I don't usually give out stellar marks, but hey! We arrived at sunset and were met by the camp host. She carted me down to the office to pay and carted me back. She was as gracious and helpful as could be. We hooked up and relaxed for the night. Fantastic stay!

I believe this is the best Fam Camp the Air Force has west of the Mississippi River. It is very well kept and clean. It is located outside the base, but just a short drive to the commissary and exchange. Very relaxing stop over, because the hook up were easy to find and will kept with a friendly helping staff.

Offutt Air Force Base is preparing for flooding as the Base Lake and FAM Camp areas are under an evacuation order, according to a press release from Offutt's public affair's office. Base personnel are "taking necessary precautions to minimize damage in anticipation of flooding." The 55th Civil Engineer Squadron is working closely with the Army Corps of Engineers, the state of Nebraska and the city of Bellevue to discuss potential flooding issues, the release states. "More than 20,000 sandbags have been ordered and will be filled by base personnel to distribute throughout the base for the protection of facilities and resource," the release states.

Very nice campground located on a 113 acre lake. Campground is not on base. We had a long level concrete pull thru site that had a patio and picnic table. No wi-fi or cable but we picked up 25-30 OTA channels with our antenna. Campstore has snacks, drinks, fishing supplies and lake and bike rentals. Very quiet and well maintained.

Great Famcamp. I'm a new Full Timer, retired AF, and was stationed here back in the mid 80s. The base lake was nice then, and it is nice now. People are catching fish, spots are spotless and mowed. Great water pressure. Camp Host Sam and her husband (Vietnam Vet) keep it going. They did have a tornado come through in June, and they lost a lot of huge trees. Flipped over one popup and minor damage to a 5th wheel, but no one was hurt. BTW: mailing address to get mail sent here is: YOUR NAME 105 Airman Circle Suite 99999 Offutt AFB NE 68113 That is the Postal Service Center on Base. They said you don't need to put GENERAL DELIVERY. They are open M-F 8-5 and Sat 8ish - Noon.

Great famcamp. Had reservations so had a nice back-in level spot. Check in was easy. Loved the location on the base lake. Could fish, rent canoes/kayaks, great kids playground and it appeared they were installing a new interpretive area for kids. Located on the backside of the flightline (not on base). Heard some RC-135s taking off and got some great pictures of them taking off into the sunset over the base lake. Access to the base is just a few miles away but easy to get to. Lots to do in the Omaha area: great zoo, appeared to have some nice parks in/around Omaha, bike trails nearby, nice golf courses. Did not use the showers/laundry but checked them out. The showers appeared clean and taken care of. There was a stackable washer/dryer that appeared to be free and then a commercial size washer and dryer that cost (minimal). Would definitely plan to return and stay longer.

Great campground, secluded on a nice large lake with a fairly well supplied shop which sells fishing permits and do canoe and kayak rentals. Spots are pretty nice with level concrete pads, a few are a little tough to back into but not too bad at all, the back in spots near the lake provide the best views. Previous reviewer is correct, two sewer hoses are a must for most spots. Bath house and laundry are a little far away and the laundry facility leaves some to be desired. Lake is great for fishing with a small dock and multiple spots along the lake with good access. You can run all the way around the lake and it is almost exactly two miles around. A nice campground and can't be beat if you have business at Offutt or in Omaha, just watch the toll bridge coming off the interstate, it is a tight squeeze with two way traffic.

Ok, to start with, off the main street in old Bellevue there is NO Harlan Lewis access you MUST turn south onto Hancock through residential area 25mph with big rigs flying opposite direction all day long, tight fit when both are passing, down the hill around the corner and 35mph then 55mph but do not do it because as the speed limit sign arrives the left hand turn into the FAMCAMP is only a couple thousand feet down on the left, small sign and barely reflective unless you have your highbeams on or arrive during the day, careful going over the railroad tracks my Kardolly drug just abit, then a right and follow around, 15mph. Check-in was a breeze, WI-FI was great, showers are located at the boat house and electric combo locked to keep park users out, nice showers with awesome water pressure, private toilet and sink, heater in the bathroom also. The toilets in the middle of the park, well very open to nature and birds and bugs, no warmth for the bottom but covered and private, the spots are concrete and have water sewer and 30/50amp. Fishing at the lake requires base permit(boat house $6) and NE license $29 for three day, BX/Wal-Mart. Large/small mouth bass, walleye, perch always jumping around but had a hard time convincing them they need my bait. The toll bridge coming off the I-29 or going to is $1 per axle, very narrow I repeat VERY narrow, had one 18wheeler come across while I was and my Kardolly tapped the barrier, thank god the dump truck was nice and waited at the other end for me to get off the damn bridge. If you do not want this bridge then N I29-W I-80-S HWY 75- E HWY 370 to Hancock rd just after Franklin rd.

Nice, clean camp. The 2 individual baths, were a walk from any site, were nice and clean. Friendly staff. GPS may miss lead you. The camp is located by a lake off base.

The camp opened again on April 1, 2012, after being closed since last June due to flooding. Location is great; however, I rated it down due to road closures beyond the control of the base. There is a bit of cleanup still going on after the flooding, but it's only a matter of time before that will be done. The posts at the entry to each site have been removed, making it much easier to back in. WiFi was down for two days at the beginning of my stay, but again this was beyond the control of the host site. When it came back up, it worked great. Overall, one of the best FamCamps I've ever had the pleasure to visit.

"Due to Security Reasons (?), no rigs will be left unattended for any length of time without prior authorization from [the] Base Lake Operations Manager or Famcamp Host." You have to get permission to leave your rig all locked up and unattended if you want to go anywhere...???

An important update if you are coming to Offutt in Jun 2011 (maybe July). Be certain to call and ask for the current status before coming to Offutt. The Missouri river is flooding north of Omaha. The Corps of Engineers are considering releasing additional water from up-stream dams. There is a chance that the Offutt RV camp will be flooded (on purpose) as well as the surrounding area. Just call first to make sure everything is ok and to avoid possible disappoint.

Am presently here, in site #1. Sort of a shabby side of the CG, new pad, but short and no place to park vehicle nearby. Has been raining and the roads are REALLY messy, a white, pasty mix that really messes up your vehicle, inside and out. Some real gravel, or concrete/paving, would really be a plus. Host was very helpful in directions, called him before arriving. When arriving via I-80 use Exit 439 onto Bellevue to the base, as directed by the Garmin. The directions provided in "the book" direct you to exit at 452, which requires about 20-30 miles added travel, if arriving from the West, and also requires navigating through some back streets. I found the book directions vague and confusing, but followed them thinking Garmin would mislead me. In this instance it was correct. Someone might wish to review the directions to this location. On the plus side, once set up, there is a neat patio table and chair arrangement on a concrete pad in front of each site in the lawn. The lake is really neat with fishing and canoes available. When the roads dry I am certain I will like this place a lot better, right now I need to find a wash rack for the RV.
