May 14th - Many military campgrounds are starting to open (with some restrictions). Please let me know if you're aware of a campground that's on this list that is now open again. I'm removing known "open" campgrounds from the list. Thanks!

I'm hearing several reports of military campgrounds temporarily cancelling reservations and not accepting new campers. It's all part of the virus spread precautions. Who knows how long they will remain "closed".

Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson told us today that if there’s a coronavirus case, they will shut down and we’ll have to leave. (They stopped letting new people come in, except for active duty folks, yesterday.)

I have a reservation for NAS Corpus Christi on Apr 3rd and have not heard a word from them and you can still book a site for that date!

Little Rock AFB has closed to new visitors. Those already in place may stay indefinitely.

The two in my area have not opened up yet for the season. (Hanscom AFB, MA and Great Pond, ME) I will keep an eye on the situation and will post updates.

Folks hopefully officials give consideration to retired Full Time RVers. No place to stay for these folks.

Pine View RV Park located on Camp Navajo in Bellemont AZ is closed indefinitely.

I did contact 877-Navy-Bed this morning and was told that Corpus Christi RV Park was still open and taking guests. It could change at any moment, so, I'd check prior to your arrival if you have reservations.

Corpus Christi RV Park- Per Ava at MWR, they are honoring existing guests and those currently with reservations yet to come in. They are not making any new reservations. 3-18-20 @ 1100 hrs.

KARS (NASA) Campground on Merrit Island (near Titusville), FL is not taking any new campers. KSC, Cape Caniveral Visitors Centers and beaches also Closed.

We have reservations in 5 military campground starting April 5th. Parris Island called today. They said base restrictions are coming in daily, but at the moment they are still honoring reservations. I will update as we hear from other bases.

Our reservations for next Wednesday, 24 March 2020 at Key West, Florida, (Navy@Trumbo) were unceremoniously cancelled this morning at 1024hrs, per the system generated email I received. No phone call.

Saw a quote from a Fort Gordon announcement today on a local TV station web site that said the Pointes West Rec Area at Lake Thurmond would remain open. The gyms, swimming pool, and bowling center are only open to active duty. The Commissary will only serve active duty and dependents from 9:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. I assume that means the rest of us retired slugs can go in after 1:00 P.M.....to see if there is any toilet paper or bread.

Pine View Closed. That sucks. Looks like a nice little CG. Are they planning on reopening after this mess goes away ?

Thanks for the info. Is this policy in writing? I would like a copy or a link stating that policy to provide to MWR at my military campground.

We are at NAS Pensacola campground and were just told that after tomorrow 03/20/20 there will be no new campers allowed in. Those that are here can stay for the duration of their of their reservations but can not extend. What we were told is that is going to be Navy wide but that is just hearsay and I don't have any facts to corroborate it. Also the National Museum of Naval Aviation here closed on Monday 03/16/20 and it is really strange not seeing the parking lot full. I'll let you know if anything changes.


UPDATE: We have just been told that we can now extend to May 11 2020.

I had reservations at NSA South Midway Famcamp in Millington, TN. I received xall that my reservation were cancelled and that no new reservations would be allowed or extended until further notice.

We are at Mayport Naval base in Jacksonville Fl. The Pelican Roost is still open as of today 3-19-2020.
