Old US66 has to be by far the most legendary.
BUT,
Over the decades it has been re aligned, chopped up, paved over by interstates it is now a major chore to
decipher where the old road once ran & try to follow it.
HOWEVER,
There are a couple of other Great road trips which are still intact awaiting for your driving enjoyment.
US50 - 3,000mi
Runs from Sacramento California's capitol to Ocean City, Maryland on the Atlantic seacoast.

US Route 1 - 2369mi
Runs from Key West, Florida to Fort Kent, Maine at the Canadian Border.
Passing thorough most of the major cities along the Atlantic Seaboard.

The Great River road - 3,000mi
Foloows the Mississippi river from North Minn to the Gulf
Passing through 10 states & hundreds of little riverfront towns.

PCH Hwy 1 Canada to Mexico

Done itt 3 times on bicycle, 10mph average, 40-45 days

Not safe anymore sadly, also camping options limited as bicycle touring is often mistaken as homeless transient people.

Did it in my Corvette last time last spring, too dangerous in California anymore, places don’t even speak English sadly
