Why couldn't the Vikings have played as badly against my Cowboys as they did against the Saints?

I have to agree. Seems that Peterson learned his lessons well when he played for the Oklahoma Sooners. They are notorious for putting the ball on the ground. Of course, the Cowboys did not play at their best in that game either.

I thought the Vikings, Saints, and Cowboys were in the NFC. Seeing as how the Indy Colts took the AFC Championship by beating the Baltimore Ravens and NY Jets thus playing the Saints in the Superbowl. Now mind you, I could be wrong about this.

Big John is right -- wrong conference title ...

Would have rather seen the Jets play Saints - have a stone in my craw about the Colts ... don't like the QB - and can't stand his commercials - I suppose he thinks they're funny, but that just shows me what he thinks of himself ... very full of himself ... if he made commercials for non-profit agencies or other public services organizations, that might be different - but he does it for profit, so he must need the money ...

And, I personally believe Eli Manning is a better all around quarterback than Payton Manning ... but that's just me.

All this in an AFC title ... hmmmmmmmm M44

While I disagree with your assessment of Payton Manning's skills, In the Indianapolis area, Payton does a lot of service ads and supports alot of local organizations. He does a lot of service organization, fund raising, and other civic activities in this area that probably don't get the national play as some of his commercials get. I have personnally met Payton, and I can tell you that there isn't an egoistic bone in his body...He is out and out a class act and I assure you that he doesn't need the money....JMHO

Tongue in cheek about 'need the money' of course ...

The other is personal opinion -- and when brother met brother in a game that counted the most... which Manning won the game?

Thanks for your comments Big John about Peyton Manning. One game against his brother does not make Eli the better player, statistics and history of the players are what tells the story. Yes we all have our own opinions but for now we will keep the Peyton Manning poster on our beer frig in the garage.

Right stats, and the team behind him, and coaching, and a million other factors that have everything to do with how well an individual player performs. It's a team sport, generally, and when coaches build a team around one player, that player will perform well (or at least better) than when a team has less money and can't build around one specific player.

But, I'd not choose to make this post about Payton Manning either, just ventured my opinion ... which we all get to do.

Now, back to the original post about the AFC and the fact that the Saints, Vikings, and Cowboy will never win the AFC title ... :):):)

It's OK Monkey, Everyone, as you say, has an opinion. I really think that the Colts vs Saints game is going to be one of the best Superbowls in recent years.....I think it is going to be a real air show between Payton Manning and Drew Breeze, Got the Frig stocked, snacks and nic/nacs at the ready. Enjoy the Game my fellow AMERICANS ! ;)

Well, guess I'll root for the Saints - they worked hard for this, and haven't had this opportunity ... will be nice to see a 'first time' winner, but we can also hope it's a good game and worth watching after all this ... :):) M44
