Was anyone lucky enough to see the Sox sweeeeeeeeeeeep the yanks for the second time this season. It's almost as good as winning the World Series - not quite, but it certainly does touch the edge of that pleasure button !!! :):)

ME too ... my best-buddy, retired M-Chief lives in SD, so we've debated the Padres wins and losses over beers more times than I can count. Be great to see a coast to coast WS sometime. Padres - Sox ...

That ain't going to happen from 4th place and they just got swept in this last series with the Angels... with a 28 and 34 record, they have a lot of climbing to do.

Well, Chief Hudson can dream about the Padres, I'll stick with the Sox and the chances they have ... would be nice to see some different teams in the WS though - likke last season when Tampa surprised everyone, including themselves.

It seems to me that whoever plays the Boston "Choke" Sox appears to roll over and play dead. My favorite team is any team that beats the "Choke" Sox. Actually I've been a Yankee fan since 1949. Was glad to see Papelbon blow a save against the "o's" last night. The Yankees will prevail once again.

That's probably why you retired from the Army instead of the Navy --

More than anything else, I love a good game in spite of who wins in the end. I've lived in so many towns over the years that my home teams run into about ten or so -

Let's see - Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Tampa, Buffalo, to name a few. So it's hard to pick a team. But, I'm guessing in baseball, the Sox/yanks rivalry is about the hottest, maybe equalled by Dodgers/Giants ... everyone else is 'just a game' :cheer:

You are absolutely right. The Sox/Yankee rivalry is the best in all sports. I grew up in Long Island, NY and had the privilege of attending Dodger games in Ebbets Field, Giants games in the Polo Grounds and, of course, Yankee Stadium. Also had the privilege of seeing Ted Williams play in Fenway. But, I will always be a Yankees fan no matter where I live.

Well, I was born in "sox-land" but grew up in "dodger-land" and now live in "sox-land" again ... at least for another few months.

But have always been a Sox fan at heart - and always will be - something about 'birth-land' I suppose ...

Also a Cape League fan, for some of the best college baseball in the nation.
