Has anyone used the Military Campground in Yuma Arizona and visited Mexico for dental work. I have been thinking about it for myself and wife. Any information would help, just getting harder to make ends meat, new tires for the RV or new teeth. Thanks for any help you can give.

Yarbees,
We use the Yuma Proving ground military campground every winter and visit Mexico about twice a month while there. What else do you want to know? The dental work in Mexico is about 1/2 the price that it is in the US. Just be careful when you visit the Dentist because they may try to get you to do work that is not needed. If you know you are having trouble with a certain tooth then have it fixed. I know many of my friends who have work done. My wife and I have dental insurance so we don't. Good luck on your decisions.

You might want to see if there are any dental schools in your area that accept patients in their program and cost would be nominal.

MANY friends get their dental and optical work done in Mexico (Algadones), across the border from Yuma. When you get into town, you'll see a hundred dentists signs lining the street.

My wife had a root canal done there. She was a dental assistant before retiring. She inspected the dentist office for hygiene and gave it a thumbs up. Price was less than half of what it would cost in the states. I thought it was interesting that the Endodontist (root canal dentist) came to the regular dentists office. You would never see a "house call" like that in the states. Overall, a good experience and we wouldn't hesitate to go back.

I've been to Los Algodones for dental work four times since 2006. Excellent work and my Seattle dentist approved.

If you'd like to read the 30-page journal from my first trip, email me at my yahoo.com address (SuzanneFromSeattle@). I think the journal is probably too large to attach here.
