This is a peaceful, quiet campground located not far from the main Ft Knox base. Grounds and bathhouse were beautifully and meticulously maintained. There is a lovely hiking trail to the nearby lake where one can fish as well. There appeared to be many long-term campers, with semi-permanent fixtures, but no visible sign of occupancy. Such "homesteaders" make it difficult for those who simply wish to visit the area for a few days. The free WiFi was poor at...

First time staying here, and I can appreciate previous reviewer’s enthusiasm. This is a terrific campground with long, level, and wide concrete pads, patio, grill, and fire ring. It appears some sites do not have septic hook up, and not all are satellite friendly. We did not use the restrooms/bathhouse, so cannot comment on that. The lake is peaceful and quiet as we observed no boating or fishing activity whatsoever. We will return.

This is a wonderful campground, and in our estimation the best value for $ spent. Campsites are roomy, although some have hook-ups on the “wrong side.” This was not a problem as we carry plenty of extensions. Best of all — fantastic free WiFi!!! It worked flawlessly during our entire 14 day stay. Staff was extremely pleasant. US Mail/UPS/FedEx directly to Reception Office is a big plus for full-timers. Easy walk to public beach access. Bathhouse and toilets are...

Not all sites are “big rig (or satellite) friendly”, but we found this to be a really nice campground.  There are many amenities, including fishing, swimming, paddle boat and canoe rental.  Note that sites are water and electric - no sewer - although there is a dump station, as well as honey-wagon service twice weekly. This campground does not offer WiFi -- we went to Starbucks to satisfy our Internet cravings.  This was our first visit to the USMA...

Check-in was smooth and friendly.  Sites are clean and spacious.  The campground is wooded, thus expect many sites to be satellite unfriendly.  WiFi is not available in the campground, only in the office.  Daily cost just rose to $42, which is a bit pricey for a military campground.  Very convenient to Washington, DC and all the capital has to offer.

This place is all about location, location, LOCATION.  It is super convenient to numerous and worthwhile sightseeing venues. This was our first visit to Monterey Pines.  After reading previous reviews, we were a bit apprehensive.  Luckily, our concerns were unfounded.  Reservation and check-in were smooth. We were advised to stop - check for golfers on the 2nd tee before proceeding to the camp ground.  Our back-in site was a bit tight, but worked okay for a 34' 5th wheel. ...

Desert Eagle is definitely on our short list of top military campgrounds. Staff is enthusiastic, competent, and friendly. FHU sites are spacious, albeit unconventionally laid out in circles. Sewer hookups are a bit of a stretch as we needed BOTH extensions. Camp WiFi worked very well and free ice was a nice amenity. We will definitely stay here again.

This is one of the best parks we've stayed in, be it military or commercial. The campground is extremely clean and well kept. It is not difficult to understand why Agave Gulch has won so many outstanding awards. Previous reviewers covered most of the plusses, so I just wanted to comment on the WiFi. It was terrible! BUT, on the positive side, contractor work has now begun to upgrade their entire WiFi system. If the new...

We thought this a nice campground with long, wide, and level sites - and no shade - at least in the so-called "new" area. Staff was pleasant and helpful. We didn't use the showers, but bathroom was clean and well kept. WiFi is so-so depending on time of day, and whether or not those not so considerate are streaming data. Eubanks gate is tight but doable as previously reported. This is a good location for visiting the area, but...

This is a nice, well-kept campground nestled in the ponderosa pines. Our site (#2) was satellite friendly, but we were unable to connect to the lodge's WiFi, even with our WiFiRanger booster. WiFi aside, the staff was courteous and friendly; restrooms and laundry clean and well maintained. Walmart and Bashas' just a short drive north on AZ 89. The recreation area is collocated with Ft Tuthill County Park where Pickin' in the Pines is a popular annual...

We found Fallon NAS an excellent camping option for military and DoD affiliates. From concrete pads with FHU, to excellent WiFi, this campground has it all - except shade. That said, campers must appreciate the "sound of freedom" aka aircraft takeoff noise. To us - music to our ears. There is a large stand alone restroom/shower/laundry building with key access. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Definitely will stay here again but not in blazing summer.
