29 Sept 12

We visited on 29 Sept. and spent the night. Had no problems getting in the gate. We were here once before so finding it was no problem and the directions are very good. The day we arrived they had just started their new reservation program. They had a few problems getting us in the computer but after a few try's we were in. New Wifi system, no one explained how it worked till the next day when we were leaving...

We stayed in the off season, no snow birds. There are a few semi homesteaders. GI's (some pretty senior) found out they can use their housing allowance to buy some nice RV's before they retire. When snowbirds aren't around there is not a lot going on. Club house on beach has restricted hours. We went there for the 4th of July thinking it would be like the old days with lots of activity's. Not so. The only thing going on...

Spent the night at this site on our way to FL. Our GPS always gives us bad information getting here. We get within 5 miles and the routing takes me the long way around thru Mexico City adding 60 miles. Maybe just my GPS. Directions on web site don't help. Easy way, from I-10 exit on HWY 231 down to Transmitter Road ( about 48 mi.) turn on to Transmitter Rd for a few miles, turn east on 98, about...

We spent the night here after staying two nights at Shields RV park at the Navy CB Battalion in Gulfport, not far away. Cleanliness was like night and day. Keeslers Fam Camp needs a desperate "spring cleaning." We have stayed here many times before and the cleanup is well overdue. We talk about "homesteaders" and this is one of those places where it really shows. The area we were in was run down, utility's were in need of repairs. The...

We spent two days at this park. We enjoyed our stay and talked to other guests. Most people were there for the Casino's. There were some "Homesteaders" and even with 64 spots they say in the winter it fills up with "Snow Birds." But you can't tell the long stay sites unless you look real close for wheel covers and heat strips on the water lines. We know these long term guests help pay bills year round. There are a...

The RV Park is a away from main base, nothing in walking distance. It's on the lake and nice and quiet. The whole place had been upgraded since our last visit. Sign in is now at the marina and the camp is a few miles down the road. Lots of open spaces when we were there, reservations weren't needed. All roads have been paved along with most sites. I have a little rig and only need electric when I stop...

We spent three nights, we enjoyed our stay, facilities were nice. The camp host tries to keep the camp as nice as he can. Like all bases any profits made have to be shared with all MWR facilities so if all facilities aren't making money all suffer. The park is in a wooded area so the snakes were active. Would be nice if base could help clean up and cut undergrowth back. There are a lot of facilities in walking...

The base is about 45 min off I-75. This is our second visit to this FamCamp. We enjoyed the last stay and we are enjoying this one. Made reservations the day before, we were told that the spots with cable were saved for guests staying more then 30 days. On arrival we asked if we could get a slot with cable, again we were told only if we were staying 30 days. When we got to the FamCamp the host...

Spent one night while on the road. Called in the afternoon and asked if there was space. They said yes, gave us a spot and said if we get there after they were closed to drop the money in the drop box. This works like a lot of the other parks that don't have Camp Host. We used the lat long to get there. It took us to one of the gates, the gate guard gave us quick instructions on...

Drove over to the RV park to check it out. We have a Class B so we can get around most places. As everyone said, the park is full of long term guests. There were three or four slots open but there were big branches and broken limbs all over the spots. I decided that I didn't want to chance it since it was forecasted for rain and wind. Instead friends invited us to their house. I was planning on...

Arrived at MCLB Friday afternoon from Florida. I have a Class B so we used the main gate. I had put the lat & long into my GPS but it didn't work that well when we got close. There were good signs though. I'm sure it is my GPS, it's older and I've had other problems with it. At the gate the guard gave good instructions. Stay right, go past the golf course, when you get to the fire station...

At Mountain Home now, agree, a little off the beaten path but 15 mi. ain't that bad. I only have a small RV (Leisure Freedom) so we have no problem getting in and out and the weather is nice and cool so we are not using A/C so no power problems. Since you can't make reservations it is good we got here early because at 2 PM there were only 4 slots open. And I think they are all full...

We waited to the last minute to call and couldn't get anyone on the phone, left message with our number but no one returned our call. The answering machine recommended sending e mail so that morning as we headed out we sent e mail requesting a site and again giving my number. I figured when they called I could ask to be close to bath house since we have a small RV and prefer taking shower in bath house. We...

Made reservations by phone at last minute. Girl on phone was great, took my info and said they had a site. We only needed it for a night. We were running late and before we could call they called us asking if we were still coming. We told them we might be late so the girl said we had spot 24 and we could see them in the morning. Luckily we did get there before the office closed because the...

Sugar Grove Cabins and Sea Bee Park are really co located, less then a quarter a mile apart. The web site map is deceiving. We stayed in the cabin and the Suite. This location is definitely, "in the eye of the beholder." We liked it. Tucked out of the way, quiet and definitely friendly. The whole base is probably smaller then some Navy ships. The thing that we were impressed with were the three small kennels, a small dog house...
