The discount for Golden Age/Golden Access/America the Beautiful is 50%. One month for $300 ...a great deal. There are no bathrooms or shower facilities as yet. Free CATV with 60 channels was activated during our stay ...a great addition as the heavy tree cover makes satellite reception very iffy or plain impossible. According to the handout received on arrival, "Firearms must be securely stored, unloaded, and out of sight." There is a very small shoppete/gas station apx 2 mi away,...

We had recurring voltage problems (SurgeGuard cutting power) when trying to use Foreman grill w/ac running …had to turn off EVERYTHING else including AC, TV, WH, refrigerator, and charger in float mode to maintain acceptable voltage (over 102v), next day could not run heat pump at all (17 amp load) in early AM. Very dusty roads. Very peaceful location. We stayed one week, and paid $18 per night with 10% Golden Access discount.

We had about 4 straight days and nights of rain, plus 2 days and night of off and on showers, during our stay. While the RV park is nice when dry, it is a pretty miserable place when wet as drainage is non-existent. We had to wade a few inches water to get in and out or our motorhome (our booster step floated away...), but we noted several occupied sites that were literally swamped in 6" or so of water...

If you have a firearm, gate guards will call for an escort to take you to the armory to store the firearm. We use a sediment filter and never noticed any rusty water inside our motorhome, but the filter was unbelievably rust colored in just one week ...far more than when we normally change filters every 4 months. Voltage tended to sag under load, so we were careful to turn off the ac anytime we had any other load on...

We have stayed here before and enjoy the Famcamp and area, but this time ran into a couple of strange glitches. 1) We made reservations for a one month stay six weeks in advance and they insisted they had to charge the FULL $529 in advance or they "could not hold our reservation." 2) When we plugged into the 50a outlet we had a problem that caused me to check the outlet with my multimeter. The problem was...

Nice level gravel sites w/ tables, utilities nicely located -- would be great if there were grills in new area. Good WIFI when it works, but it did drop out on me several times and was down for about 48 hours the day after we arrived. I used my Verizon broadband with excellent signal. Camp hosts are very helpful & attentive.

Though there are no signs indicating inspection requirement, you MUST go through the "red barn" to the right on approach to Gate 2. The "big rig friendliness" of this famcamp is marginal at best. Many sites are too short for a 40' rig and some corners are very tight/too tight for big rigs. When backed into our site with rear almost against a tree, the nose of the MH was still out in the street. Most sites require one or...

We have stayed here once a year for several years, from two weeks to a month at a time. It would be great if they would change the 14 day limit to 30 days to be consistent with most other Famcamps, but the 14 day stay limit does allow you to "roll over" and stay in your site if there is no one on the waiting list at 9am on your day of departure. If on the rare occasion you...

Easy to find, and hosts were very friendly and helpful. RVs are parked at all kinds of angles due to there being no effort to create level sites. We had great difficulty getting leveled on our site as it was much higher in the rear. After several attempts (and totally destroying a jack pad in very soft ground) we finally got parked at a sharp enough angle to get leveled using several planks I carry, but we had to be...

We were in electric only on pretty much a day to day basis while waiting on dealer & mfg coordination on repairs. The woman in the office was helpful, though never gave us any famcamp, local or bathroom combination information. We had no trouble getting a refund for days paid when the dealer called us to bring our motorhome in ahead of what they had previously scheduled. As we have experienced before, the goathead thorns are pretty bad throughout the...

Tight roads, but workable. We had to leave for a few days due to a death in the family, and appreciated the helpfulness of the management in leaving our motorhome there. The only big draw-back to this nice Famcamp is the lack of working WIFI, particularly since my Verizon broadband won't work in most of Oklahoma. I drove to the BX food court and back every day to keep up with email -- a pretty lengthy drive. I understand the...

It was a bit interesting getting to the Famcamp as the main gate is closed and traffic enters the Grandview Gate. Base street names have apparently been changed, so we could not rely on the names on our printed map from MS Streets & Trips or the names we saw on the GPS. One "street" on the GPS took us into a dead end but had a large parking lot we could turn around in -- fortunately it was Labor...

Campground host is outstanding!! She works hard to fit everyone in, parking rigs in open areas between sites to share unused electric hookups while waiting for full sites. She was also a great source of information on local attractions, etc. Location is great, but website directions got us into trouble due to street construction. With no warning signs that the left turn from Spatz to LeMay was closed, we were trapped between a closed street and a closed Patriot Gate...

We arrived one week before July 4th for a two week stay and got one of several vacant sites, but were advised we would have to move to dry camp ("just pick any place outside the Famcamp area") for the 3rd & 4th as they had reservations for that time period. The base July 4th celebration is at the base lake where the Famcamp is located. They put us #2 on the waiting list. Three days later they knocked on...

Entrance is a bit tight for larger rigs, and registration parking slots are totally too small for larger rigs! Once past the registration area, the park is quite nice. They have the nicest combined parking slabs w/patios we have seen, though our site was low enough in the front to raise the front wheels slightly off the ground when the rig was leveled. Free WIFI (advertised as "in the family room" in their publicity) was good at our site most...
