FAMCAMP was clean and camp host was friendly and helpful. He met us at our site - we just drove in and picked one. Registered and paid on-site. We stayed in back portion where only 30 amp electricity and water were available. Had no problems though. We had a pretty muggy night because of recent rains - nothing camp host can do. However, the road near the showers/laundry was muddy - needs quite a lot more gravel in this area. In fact, roads throughout could use a little maintenance. Would be nice if WIFI were offered. Also, I would recommend a FAMCAMP sign be posted at the first intersection. This is a three-way intersection and easy to miss as I was looking for a four-way intersection. Easy to get to correct road by going around the quadrangle where the static displays of aircraft are. I liked having the gas pumps nearby. YOU CANNOT BEAT THE PRICE!!

Only stayed one night, called ahead to see if there was room, they said come on in plenty of room, when we arrived there was only two pads left. Went to office to pay, this web page has it listed as building 640 when in fact it is building 460, Rec Office. The Rec Office showed 6 pads open, only two were open, not the best system for keeping track of the pads, was a very nice place, the front area has full hook ups and was full, the back area is nice with water and electric. No problems.

Like most reviewers, we parked in the back area. The front stayed full the whole time we were here. They allowed us to extend our stay past the "7 day limit". Back area is far nicer than the front even though there are no sewer hookups. Large sites with pull throughs. First time I ran into 30 Amp on a GFI circuit. Had to bypass my Autoformer or the CB would trip. My surge protector did not cause any problems. Water spigot leaked when on so we filled the tank and left it off unless needed to avoid flooding the site. Reported the problem, but no action on it while we were here. Nice base. Enjoyed our stay.

I would tend to agree with many of the comments about the LRAFB FamCamp, especially those comments regarding the front (FHU) area. We stayed almost a week in the back area, which we found to be much nicer than those in the front, though without sewage. Our fur-baby did not encounter any ticks, so that was a relief, nor was dog droppings a problem. We noticed all the pet owners picking up after their pets did their Ëœbusiness". Complaints: One site in the front area is designated Ëœshort-term" - I am not certain as to what that term means at LRAFB, as the site was occupied when we arrived/departed by the same person? The FamCamp seems to be the base tourist attraction as we witnessed NUMEROUS cars driving through, obviously just looking at all the campers/RVs. While the FamCamp is quite safe, we never saw a security police vehicle, the camp host, or anyone from Rec Services in the campground monitoring what was happening, or who was there. At least two RVs were unoccupied in the back area, without any indication they paid for their spots, and, one couple drove in late/left early - did they pay, I do not know, but they did not display a receipt on the post provided. At $12/day, the price is great, and the overall condition of the park means we will return!

We liked this campground but found the layout kind of weird. The front 10 sites with full hookup are not at all well spaced. One site may have a large front grassy area and the one right next to it doesn't have any front (awning side) area at all. We were in site #5 and couldn't even open our slide on that side. We did have a wooden deck for a patio where most have only a gravel pit. Some even share driveways. The driveways are real long but you have to back way into the slots in order to reach the hookups. Sites share posts so every other site has to run their electric and water under their RV. We got good satellite and good Verizon phone service. Good large tar pavement for backing the RV. Concrete level pad, picnic table, close to dumpster, good commissary, only 20 minutes from downtown Little Rock. Nice asphalt walking path through the woods, probably about a mile in length. We never did see a FamCamp host if there is one. We stayed here in a 40' motorhome and would come back. The front sites have one or two empty sites each day and the back was only 1/3 or less full.

It is strange that the bigger/wider, "nicer" sites - with "patios - in the back CG are only 30 Amp and have no sewer. The lower section (although not as secluded) had full hookups. We selected the lower area only b/c it's all paved (great for scootering) and close to the park (I could see the kids). It's also closer to the garbage and recycling (everything except paper, but they have that near the commissary!!). The shower/laundry is midway between the two areas. We got one of three sites that have a patio area off to the side of our pad. Although there are also gravel sites (and I'm not sure of thier levelness), all the concrete sites throughout the CG seemed very level. The CG is very near everything; a shoppette with movie rentals right out the FamCamp entrance, and the BX/Comm up the street a couple miles. The Commissary had some organic, like milk and a few other necessities, but we ended up "mapquesting" Wild Oats and heading into Little Rock (30 min). We paid $14/night so rates must have gone up...

We stayed at a water and electric only (30 amp) site. There is a dump station. Bathrooms and laundry room on site. Codes needed for both. We enjoyed our stay and would return. Great place to stop if you are traveling that way. $12/night with no discounts.

As you enter you will see the normal camp sites, no privacy, etc, however if you drive around to the back there some nice sites in the woods, very private. We found the host very helpful. Very nice campground.
