This was our third visit to the Fort Bliss RV Park in as many years. Although they don't accept reservations, and the park is usually close to capacity fill, we have never had a problem getting a site. It is one of the nicer military RV parks in the country. The sites are level, concrete pull-thrus with asphalt access roads. The hookups are top notch and there is recycling on site (minus glass). Although the park is not actually on Fort Bliss, the base is only 10 minutes away where you will find a great commissary and a large shopping area (including exchange). WiFi is only available in the RV park community building, but if you are willing to stroll over there, it is dependable and fast. We would definitely stay here again when in the El Paso area.

As stated in other posts, the approach is pretty tight and caution must be exercised. Check in was easy and the staff very friendly and professional. After we were set up, we returned to the office to information on the local area. The clerk handed me my ID card that I had inadvertently left behind... Oops... We toured the Post and went through the Ironsides Museum. All of which was very impressive. The shopping available on Post is amazing. Headed for the Boarder Patrol Museum today. The Fam Camp is one of the better ones we have stayed at. It is well maintained and clean. Yes, the noise of the nearby freeway is noticeable, however it didn't keep us awake. As it is at most Fam Camps, there is some homesteading going on. Our neighbor was one of those "Homesteaders". A "Wounded Worrier" with a prosthetic leg. He had been there a little over a month. It appeared the neighbors to the other side had been there quite some time. Bottom line, there was a site available when I needed it. We will certainly stay again should we pass this way.

Wife and I enjoyed this park, and the town of El Paso. First the Cons: ENFORCE the rule to clean-up after pets have done what it is that pets need to do... it seems as though the piles that are left are from people that are walking BIG dogs - ugh, I would not want to clean up after them either, but they are your dogs, take care of them!!! Rules are Pit Bulls and Rottweiler's are restricted from the post, including the campground; but that is not the case, a Pit Bull is in the space next to us, and his owner is one of the ones that does not like to bend over and clean-up after his dog. Now the Pros: A very nice park, located very convenient to things to do in El Paso and surrounding area. The staff is cordial, and the dumpster are usually empty. There is an Express gas/convenience store right next the RV Park, and they sell Diesel at a very competitive rate. We will definitely return to this park when we are back in El Paso - hopefully the Pit Bull’s daddy will be elsewhere that weekend.

Very nice park and staff. There's much to see in El Paso area. We especially enjoyed the Border Patrol museum. We did not use restrooms/showers/laundry. However, the clubhouse/rec area room was outstanding, even exercise equipment. The wifi is extremely fast, fastest we've ever experienced in an RV park, period!!! I had a lot of big download projects to do and it was faster than our 4G Verizon jetpack! Sadly, they don't take reservations, so have plan B ready in case they are full. We called the day before they had several spaces opening the next day. Access is off base, so no ID card needed. L & J Cafe has awesome Mexican food! Looks like a hole-in-the-wall, located next to a cemetery - but the place was packed!

May 2016

We just finished a five week cross country trip from FL to CA and back in May. We stayed at 9 military RV parks. All are very different. We were lucky and got the next to last spot available for the night. Seems to be some homesteaders here. All amenities were nice including the bathhouse and clubhouse. Large, clean, and level concrete spaces. Kept up very well. This is more of an urban RV park not located inside the Army base. We did hear road noise from the nearby highway. We would stay here again.

April 2016

I have been here over the past few years and it seems like every time I come here that it gets worse.  This time there is a different breed of personnel staying here.  Some of them have this attitude that they can do any thing that they want to. Like driving the wrong way on one way streets, speeding (more than 10 mph), not trying to help keep things clean (like not flushing the toilet when finished), not closing the bathroom doors behind themselves, the laundry (this morning, it looked like some one dumped the trash all over the floor) and the pet area (they do not pick up after their pets, it is so bad that you have to tippy toe around so as not to step in dog doo doo).  The cleaning of the bathrooms are so so.  The shower curtains are way to short and some are not wide enough to close properly (like a narrow curtain is for a small narrow shower) which makes a mess on the floor outside the shower. They could do a much better job at it. The road noise is loud, but after being in other parks that are close to the road, it does not bother me to much. There are a lot of sites that looks like the people are set up to be permanent residents. Lot of clutter around their RV's.  This place could be one of the best military RV Parks in the system. The personnel who work here are very nice and friendly. I would have like to give it a higher rating but.

February 15 - March 14

We originally planned on staying here a week but due to some family issues wound up staying four weeks.  I have mixed feelings so I'll start with the good.  The sites are cement and level with more than enough space for an RV and truck.  There is not a lot of shade with only one tree at the site, which did bloom while we were there so that helped. No issues with the utilities although the water pressure did fluctuate daily.  The laundry was fine, although the room  could have been cleaned a little better.  Now the bad, anyone who says the road noise is bearable must be deaf because you hear it everywhere and at all times of day and night.  Our first site was at the back of the park nearest to Highway 54 and even with earplugs while sleeping, it was constant.  We moved to another site half way into the park and could still hear it.  Don't expect to sleep past 5:30 because that's when rush hour begins.  The quiet hours end at 5:00 AM so that tells you the park caters to the active duty living there.  Not one of the posted rules are followed and it's obvious.  More than one resident has three vehicles along with their RV and one even had a storage trailer along with three vehicles.  Many residents have so much junk around their site it makes the place look like a base housing trailer park.  Many have outdoor refrigerators, built in stairs and cars that looked like they haven't moved in months.  Others have complained about dog poop on the grass, which is very bad, but it's not only the grass where the dog walk is but in the rocks around the park and even in the roads.  Definitely the worst military campground when it comes to people not cleaning up after dogs.  We had a neighbor that would go outside to smoke at 6:15 AM and carry on phone conversations for over an hour.  Very little consideration among the long term residents there.  The only WiFi is at the rec room and when we tried to connect we had issues.  The park has lots of potential, despite El Paso not having a lot to do, but the rules need to start being enforced before it can live up to that potential.

March 14-18, 2016

A fantastic park, neat and well cared for. Staff was friendly and quick in getting us checked in.  As we arrived on a Monday afternoon, there were plenty of spaces available, though I made sure to call first.  Facilities were well maintained and the bathrooms cleaned during the times posted on the doors.  Laundry room was clean and all machines were working (new side).  Even though the freeway is close, the noise wasn't too bad.  The ONLY thing that kept me from giving it 5's across the board was the lack of park wide WIFI.  Seems a required convenience these days, and I wonder why they have not yet added it.  Overall we enjoyed our stay and exploring El Paso and the surrounding environs.  Would definitely stay again when we come back this way.

13-16 Oct 2015

A bit late with this post. Called in advance to make sure there was space, extremely professional and helpful. Our coach and trailer is just over 70',keep that in mind as you pull in, it can be a bit tight. You will not be able to maneuver around being this long, disconnect the trailer by the office.  The Famcamp is on/off post. There is no security gates to go through to get into the campground. Although there is a short wall around the area, its more secure then the civilian campgrounds. . The wifi was basically not available, extremely intermittent. Sites were great. There was a interruption with the water while there due to a brake in the main water line (fixed with-in a day). The installation has so much to see and do. Remarkable mall area, even has a Texas Road House on Post in the mall. Building a new hospital on far side of post.  Visit the museums!!! Took my Dad (88 yrs old) that was stationed here in '48-'49.. he recalled all the "Old" Post area well. great preservation. Even with the inconvenience of disconnecting the trailer I would come back.

October 9, 2015

This was our second visit to this RV park (see my review from October 12 - November 2, 2014. This was just a one night "pass through" visit, however. My impression of Fort Bliss RV Park is pretty much unchanged. The only major detraction is the lack of decent WiFi service. For it being the middle of the week in the beginning of October, I was surprised that there weren't too many open sites.

The park was only about 3/4 full. It's not snow bird season is my guess for the reason. The facility is fine. Having no wifi didn't bother us as we used our iPhone hotspots.

June 2015

Good campground with full hook ups, level concrete & gravel sites, nice laundry/bath houses. Maps, key locations, and base info provided. Never met the camp host(s) but did see them cruising the campground on the golf carts. Well maintained and has 2 dog park grass pads available. Would be nice if they'd fence them in so the dogs could have some free room to run. Fenced in dog parks are located on the main side base. Very nice main side base with PX shopping Mall, large commissary, dining facilities. Mini mart located next to the FamCamp and patrolled by base security.

Nice place. Level sites with concrete patio and picnic table. Maybe half the sites have a grill. Looks like the southern half of the park may be newer - the northern part had more trees and bushes (such as they are in this part of the world) anyway. Nice facilities with the exception of wifi which was nonexistent at our site by the other laundry building, no cable either. But, there is a good strong Verizon signal. Convenient to post without being on it (to echo other comments - wow- the old PX/cafeteria has come a long way from the ones I remember). The Express adjacent to the park is certainly a bonus.

December 2014

We stayed here two weeks in our class C early December 2014. It is a very nice park, has very nice laundry, shower and day room facilities. The sites are nice and level even though the whole park slopes. We were on an east site on the east side and while we could clearly see the interstate the noise was not bad at all. Fort Bliss has the best shopping mall I've ever seen on any military installation! It is abundantly obvious they strive to keep personnel on base (or Post, sorry Army!) and not out wandering El Paso by offering everything one could want right there! Nice food court, vendors in mall, a great thrift shop in old commissary and excellent museums, too. I highly recommend the Border Patrol museum just north west of the base and the little natural history museum next door. The approach is a bit tight along the side by the high school and don't try it at noon or 3:00 when students are heading out, they mob the shoppette! Even though it is off-base we had no security issues at all. Only negative is people didn't clean up after their dogs in the dog park. Did we not all get the same personal responsibility training in service? If you can't clean up after your dog don't have one. There is a big Walmart a couple blocks away, but really the base shopping is better. Check out the El Paso Saddleblanket store for souvenirs! If we ever go back will definitely stay there again. Very weak wifi, but I carry a hotspot and got great signal.

December 15-18, 2014

Nice park. Easy access off highway. We were headed East. Very busy park. Sites seemed to fill same day they emptied. Nice big concrete pads. Get an end site and you feel like you have a big yard! We travel with 40' fifth-wheel, and a Jeep pulling 8' trailer for motorcycle. Everything fit on the pad. Park is right next to highway so there is highway noise, but it wasn't too bad since the park is behind a wall. Not sure how that would be if windows/doors were open all the time. Clubhouse and laundry very nice. There's a Subway and shoppette right next to park. There are 2 dog walk areas; neither is fenced in. My first trip over there I was shocked that the ground was covered in dog poop. I was going to go back that evening after site seeing to clean it up but another camper (equally as grossed out) beat me to it. We chatted and she said that while she was cleaning two different people walked their dogs and didn't clean up. Really? The park provides pooper scoopers right there?!? That, was my only complaint and nothing management can really do about that.

October 12 - November 2, 2014

This is a very nice RV park. There are wide, concrete paved sites with picnic tables and asphalt access roads. There is a very nice fitness facility within walking distance of the park. There is a huge commissary on base (about a 10-15 minute drive) along with a great shopping area on base. The RV park has recycling (minus glass) on site. The only negative I would cite is the weak WiFi. We were located in about the center of the RV park, and the signals from the RV park WiFi towers were so weak that they were useless. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the El Paso area.

Sites are level, easy access, full concrete pads. I found no negative things other then it was hot in June, but this is Texas. I like that the camp was not on base and across the street is the gas station that accepts the Military Star Card to give you the 5 cent discount on gas. The golf course was nice for a desert environment.
