Sites are level, easy access, full concrete pads. I found no negative things other then it was hot in June, but this is Texas. I like that the camp was not on base and across the street is the gas station that accepts the Military Star Card to give you the 5 cent discount on gas. The golf course was nice for a desert environment.

Pros: Well-groomed and well maintained RV park; rows were neatly paved and organized; plenty of sites with full hookups available; a large family room with full kitchen and cool a/c available; exercise room available with two treadmills, two ellipticals, and two bikes; right across the street the gas station/shopette/Subway; very friendly staffmember during check-in process. Cons: facility is outside the FtBliss fenceline and there's no military ID card check taking place to access campsite; SGM camping next to me attending the SGM Academy warned me to watch out for my bikes because his were stolen - since El Paso is a "border town" MPs suspected it was a bike-theft ring that operates in the local area; WiFi signal was weak, and intermittent despite being right in front of the clubhouse - not sure you'll have the same luck if you're parked in farther rows; some areas lack shade so be ready to run the A/C during summertime; base facilities (largest BX/Commissary complex I've seen) approx 3 miles away across the hwy.

Very nice RV camp.. very clean. I checked in after hours, I found the camp host to be very friendly and helpful. The park was very clean. The office staff was also friendly. I only stayed one night as I was "on a mission" to get to Fort Sam Houston. Only item worth noting is it is very close to the freeway and there is constant noise from the cars and trucks, not all that bad, but noticeable. I was not able to get the WiFi to work in my RV but it works well in the rec/family room. I do plan on returning to the camp on the way back west/home.

Stayed here one night for the past two years on our annual trip to San Diego. They do not except reservation and when I called I was 1 1/2 hours away, the desk clerk told me they had 2 openings. We were lucky to get the last site available for the night. The park is clean but it's all concrete and gravel, little or no shade, so plan on running your A/C full blast. They have two large dog walk areas where you can always find the droppings of inconsiderate pet owners. Both times we stayed we noticed that 90% of the 133 spaces were taken up by permanent residents. Don't know what the housing berthing situation is in FT Bliss but seems like a lot soldiers living in the RV park.

Nice campground! Spaces are wide and easy to navigate. The gentleman running the office, David, when we checked in was very courteous. Likewise, the next morning when we asked to extend one more day, he was just as courteous and helpful. The showers were clean and the overall appearance of the campground was excellent. There is a Express store close by with gasoline and diesel. I would rate this park a "5" if wi-fi was available at the site. As it is, wi-fi is available in the "family room" in the center of the park. I will stay here again if I pass through. Thank you, David, for making our experience enjoyable.

Have stayed here several times before over the years. Good stopping point when passing through. They operate on a first come first served basis. I called during duty hours and Norma said she only had 3 open spots. We arrived at 1645 (after hours) only to have the host tell us two rigs pulled in and they were full. I told her there should still be one available. She held firm that the park was full. On our way out to find a civilian park, we spotted the open site and pulled in. Went back to the host to let her know I found an open site. She didn't believe me and wanted to check with the neighbors in case someone was out getting their rv fixed and would be back. I asked her if the site was paid for for the night and she would not answer if it was or not. She kept going on about how she and her husband had been in the site next door and knew the person who had been in the empty site. Umm, I don't care since the site was empty and first come first served applies. She relented and took my details and my $18. I now have to go to the office in the morning to get a receipt so I can file my travel voucher. It seemed as though she was trying to hold the site for somebody. When I spoke with the staff 2 hours prior to arriving, I confirmed they do not take reservations. I don't know why there was all this fuss over an $18 campsite for one night. Though the FAMCAMP is nice enough, the current hosts lack customer service.

New rates went into effect Aug 2013. Active duty still pay $18/day. Retired, DAV pay $19/day. Sponsored guests pay $20/day. With the Golden Age-Golden Access pass $17/day. This is our second visit while passing through the area. It's a nice park and a good value. People don't pick up after their pets in the pet walk area though. The rest of the park is clean and well ordered. There are a lot of long term campers here I saw refrigerators and freezers outside some campers that obviously don't move often. There were only 5 available sites when I visited.

Have to agree with Sep review. Recent changes to pet policy, only allowed 3 pets per site. Well, my pets are quieter than the two kids next door last night, long term residents. Lots of pet droppings in pet area (we pick up after ours, always), so the policy is not strictly enforced as stated. RV park is excellent with nicely spaced concrete pads and patio. There were only about 5 sites available, which is fine, but it has become a trailer park and I think they are violating their own regs AR215-1 on stay limits and purpose of the campground. If you want to run a trailer park then make a trailer park, but don't call it an RV park. Long term and homesteading has always been a pet peeve of mine, sorry. Didn't use any of their other facilities so couldn't rate any higher. Don't get me wrong, this is a beautiful park and clean in my opinion. But, it's being used for other purposes than recreation. I wouldn't even mind if they allocated on half to long term, but there should be more sights available for regular RVers. Maybe they do adhere to policies, but I doubt it. Don't tell me all of them are going to the Academy either, cause I bet there not. No way for us RVers to check that, but higher ups can sure check it.

My comments are because we couldn't stay here. Tried to get a spot and all full. That's OK, but it appears to be a lot of long timers there. Then told they have no places to dry camp and need to go to Wal-Mart. Thanks!?! I'd call first to avoid the drive.

Nice facility. The freeway noise is very pronounced for the spots right next to it. We were fortunate and able to move to the next to the back row on our 3rd day there and it is not so bad back there. We could pickup some wifi in space 38. It was intermittent. They don't advertise that they have wifi available in the spaces, but for a park of this size and if they had cable I'd give the amenities a "5". Lots of what seems to be homesteaders. Staff was friendly & helpful. Price with Golden Age Pass is very reasonable.

This was a real nice campground, but over the pass couple of years it has gone down hill. It is becoming a trailer park. There are many permanent campers here, not only the SGM's Academy but some others that should have moved on. The bathrooms are nice, but the cleaning is getting worse all the time, the toilets are stain with hard water deposits, which could be taken care of in a timely manner. They don't do first echelon maintenance around the grounds, toilet sets are loose, the campers leave the lights on and the doors open, which lets the bugs and dirt in and gets everything nasty, and makes for a very undesirable situation as someone could hide in there and when a woman or child goes in, well, you know what could happen. It makes you wonder what kind of upbringing these people have had. Around the grounds, there are shrubbery that needs to be trimmed back away from the walk ways, there is dead brush and a small tree or two that needs to be taken away, weeds aplenty that needs taken care of. The curbs have been broken and messed up for a few years now. The campers (some) let their pets do their thing in the dog park and never pick up behind them and nothing is done to the offenders. Lot of the sites looks like a junk yard. More than 2 vehicles, cargo trailers etc. Other than that, this is a good RV Park, conveniently located to Fort Bliss and El Paso.

Excellent campground; good location, easy route to commissary; concrete lots that can accommodate 40 ft coach and tow vehicle. Staff professional, efficient, and friendly. Called ahead to find there were 6 sites left and got one when we arrived. Would be better if they accepted reservations. Everything was great with one exception. A few long term folks had boxes, file cabinets, dog pens, childrens' toys piled up on site so that if this isn't stopped, it's gong to look like a trailer park rather than a campground. We would definitely come back.

One of the most beautiful military parks we have stayed in. Management and night host very friendly and helpful. Since "no reservations", I called when we were couple of hours out. Manager said they had 10 spaces available and we had no problem get a space, when we arrived. There are a lot of students in the park, but that is great for them. The spaces are large and well spaced. There is a beautiful pet area that we had a hard time getting our little guy to leave. We will definitely be back!

This large park is a great place to stop while traveling I-10. Office staff are very friendly. Parking is on concrete pads and are very well spaced. Laundry is large with several machines; $1 wash/.75 to dry. Some road noise from Hwy 54 was a little bothersome for us. Several long-term folks and not all are attending the Sgt Major Acadmey. I talked to two retired folks who have been here for over the 60/90 day limits. Both wouldn't say how long but I got the impression it was for a long while. The Freedom Crossing PX and Commissary are outstanding. The PX complex has a huge food court. Also in the complex, there is a Buffalo Wild Wings, a Dairy Queen, the Shamrock Irish Pub, a Denny's and coming soon, a Texas Roadhouse. At $16 a night with our Access Pass, this RV park is a great bargain!

Plusses: Nice to see a nearby fitness center. Well done bathrooms, well maintained. Express and gas station (quick mart a few hundred feet nearby). Lots of space between sites. Big Laundry. Thanks for acknowledging the Golden Access card holders. Minuses: Lots of homesteaders (6 months one told us). Daily RVers should be apart from the "family homesteaders".

R.M. left this review using the Directory software: - We stopped for just a night. A clean, well organized place to park your RV & hook up. There are some long time residents but it is clean. They have nice shower rooms, concrete parking and pad/picnic table area. Right across the street from a Gas station, mini-mart/liquor store & an adjoining Subway. Right off the freeway. It works for me.

Wonderful experience. We were just traveling thru and spent just 1 night. I have travel thru El Paso many times, first time to spend the night, it was nice to get settle and restart before the bad rush hour. The amenities seemed to be top notch, staff were very helpful. Convient to gas and supplies. Only fault was it is locate in the city and very close sites.

I have stayed here a couple of times and still wonder why the FamCamp is not within the confines of Ft Bliss. Anyone can walk or drive into RV Park without going through any security. That's one of the things I like about being around the military is the security. Being around El Paso/Juarez has a reputation with the drug situation. However, I seen the MP's constantly. The RV park has great amenities and has grown the last few years. I think they have done a great job. I was told upon check-in that as long as I picked up after my dogs, everything would be fine. It's a shame that the other folks there are not complying. Walking through the dog walk has many, many "obstacles". Hence my rating for cleanliness. Shame on the dog owners for their lack of compliance. I'll come back again. And one last thing, the PX area is the best I've seen on any military installation with existing store and the other major stores and restaurants soon to be added. Kudos for the approving authority on that.

S.B. left this review using the Directory software: - This campground is well maintained, even has a crew of 2-3 people that run around doing landscaping, cleanup, etc. The office folks are also friendly, even offering a choice of site if more than 1 available. The only downside is that about 95% of the sites are taken by active duty people who live there full time. The result is that about 4 sites were open the day we arrived, but 3 of those were in an undesirable location, i.e. all in the first row next to a very busy limited access highway with big rigs and trucks on it 24/7 @ 60 or more mph. Our site was 18 and i was able to pick up the cg wifi from inside the rv and a long distance from the building that has the wifi.
