We did NOT stay in the Eielson AFB trailers, but did stay, in our class C, for 3 days at the host RV park: Eagle's Rest. The park is located in the town of Valdez within easy walking distance of most of the town. There is a Safeway grocery and a Tesoro Gas/Convenience store within 100 yards of the park. Downtown Valdez and the waterfront stores and restaurants are within a couple blocks. The trailers looked new and were 28-29" bunkhouse models with the most common being a Jayco 29BHQ. There is a AF office trailer located with the rental units. The facilities at the RV park are nice with good showers and an excellent laundry. The park itself is, like many Alaska RV Parks we stayed at, a gravel field with little or no grass/trees. Otherwise it is a great location surrounded by mountains and we regularly see eagles flying over or resting in the trees that border the property.
