When Fort Belvoir (VA) opened their new Travel Camp in May, 2013, they were the highest priced military campground. $60 a night was an extremely high price to charge for a military recreation facility. Numerous website users contacted the campground and submitted DoD ICE comments. I don't know if our feedback was a factor, but Fort Belvoir has LOWERED their camping fees!
Their NEW nightly rates are:
- $40 - Back-in along the woodline with a waterview. Sites # 1-14
- $45 - Pull-thru in center of the RV Park with a waterview. SItes # 15-35
- $50 - Back-in along the waterfront. SItes # 36-52
In addition to the lower rates, they've also implemeted a flat $40 a night rate for ANY site on select holidays.
