We stayed over 4th of July. For the cost everything was going well. You are out in the boondoggle, but that can be a good thing. When we came back on Friday night our site was flooded by 8 inches of water. I could have taken or should have taken pictures, but didn't. By morning the water was down to 2 inches, we were leaving anyway, but other than the flood which wasn't MWR's fault, it was nice. New stone, they just need to improve the drainage.

Made reservations about 3 months out. No problem checking in on arrival day & the staff were friendly and helpful. The actual camping area is off post and a little confusing to get to if you're not familiar with the paths through the Jersey Pine Barrens. The camping area is at a Skeet range and parking spots are very close together as said in previous reviews but it was only a place to sleep while visiting Jersey Shore, New York City & Philadelphia (all within 1.5hrs away. You can't beat that for $100 per week! The only issue I had were all the mosquitos due to tall grass & weeds in the campgrounds not being cut. But like I said, I was only there to sleep in the RV, so the 20 seconds it took me to get from my truck and into the RV weren't that much of an issue. But if you're planning to be outside longer than that...Good Luck!

Called a couple of days ahead of our stop and was able to make reservations. Recommend reviewing info on how to get to MWR as gate personnel weren't helpful. MWR folks guided us to their office. MWR people are great! Other campers were great in helping us get backed into our site. Facilities were fine. Range gunfire seemed to quit early and it wasn't too loud. I would stay here again. One nice aspect about MDL Joint Base is the canopy over the gas pumps is high enough to allow a motorhome to fuel up.

I was not familiar with the post so I elected to take a route around the post. The address I entered into my GPS was 9060 Cookstown-Browns Mills Road, Ft Dix 08640. Not bad routing with a few low hanging tree branches, but still high enough to not cause any damage to my rig. The route I used was from the NJ Turnpike exit #5 to Burlington-Mount Holly Rd (CR 541S), left onto Woodland Rd (CR630), left onto Monmouth Rd (CR 537), right onto Jacobstown-Cookstown Rd (CR665), right onto Main St (CR616), straight through to Cookstown-Browns Mills Rd (CR 667). Follow the road for a few miles and you will see the Range 14 sign on your left (Also a Paint Ball Course sign). Turn left at the Range 14 sign, after the stop sign the entrance road to the RV park will be the first street on the left (narrow road through the tree line). The Outdoor Rec office is at 6045 Doughboy Loop, Joint Base McGuire, Dix, Lakehurst, NJ 08640. The Outdoor Rec staff where friendly and professional. The campsite is primitive, but we enjoyed our stay well enough to go back for a second week. You are on the skeet range, but the gun noise was not bad and on weekdays it normally did not start until the afternoon. Each site was set up differently, some had the water, electric and sewer on one side of the vehicle some on the other, and some had them split between two sides. I could not find a laundry facility on the post and was directed off post by Outdoor Rec personnel. PX and Commissary were good. We did find a Camping World in Lakewood, NJ about 23 miles away. Enroute to Camping World we found a great Bar and Bistro, Three B’s in Lakehurst. Lots of good places to eat in the local area to include Sebastian’s Schnitzelhaus and Yordana’s Pizza & Pasta both were really good.

I come here every year for the last three years in September for my Grandson's birthday. It's not a premium campsite but you can't beat the price at $100 a week. There is full hook up and as far as the skeet range goes it doesn't bother us at all. Years before internet and cable TV that was our main source of fun when off duty. Many Vietnam veterans enjoyed this sport. You are off the beaten path and that's ok with us as well. As far as we're concerned this place is a blessing for us.

We are currently at this campground as I write this review. First off they tried putting us at Willow Pond (no sewer hook up, but dump station) for our 11 night stay due to PCS, took a little drive out here to Range 14 and noticed full hook up, so they switched our reservation without issue, just made sure we were aware that this is an active shooting range. The noise doesn't bother us a single bit, our neighbors are wonderful, it's mowed and the roads are maintained. The restrooms and shower are a tad bit down the road, and they are really nasty. Other than that we haven't had a single problem and will return. In this area prices can be rather high for full hook up, but this one is $20 per night.

OK for one night. Rather spartan, bare bones in appearance and aesthetics. Range 14 is near the sport shooting facility and is off base. No host or management presence at the site. You must go to Outdoor Rec to register. To get there we got telephonic directions which were complicated by construction. We also got verbal directions to Range 14 once we got to Outdoor Rec. The sites are grassy/sandy/dirt but because of visible ruts, it may be muddy after a heavy rain. We had to change sites because the one we were assigned had no water spigot. No problem, just a call to Outdoor Rec and we changed sites.

Range 14 is a skeet and trap range with the RV sites located just in front of the range adjacent to the wooded area. If you enjoy waking up to sound of shotguns and enjoy the sound of shotguns throughout the day, this is the campground for you. We used the facilities in our rig so I can't speak to the restroom and shower facilities on Range 14 but they are not adjacent to the RV campground as they are about 100 yards or more down the skeet range. However, if they are maintained as well as the campground, I would avoid. While I was there the snow melt combined with rain had turned the campground into a muddy mess. On arrival I was astounded by the amount of rutting present on the campground spots. Maintenance of the area does not seem to be existent and unless serious changes are made, I would recommend avoiding Range 14. The only two positive aspects about the campground was it is provided with sewer connections the friendliness of the staff at JBMDL Outdoor Rec Office (although I cannot applaud their campground management ability). Cellphone coverage is adequate or less and WiFi is not provided, of course.

We arrived today and I wished we had never found the place. I don't know how they can call this a Famcamp. They had 30 amp service which is very low power, around 107 volts. The circuit breaker keeps popping even with just 1 AC on. They do have sewer in now and that is about it. Our Verizon MIFI comes and goes, but mostly goes. The sites are on grass/sand and needs mowing. The commissary/BX are about 5 miles away which is very well stocked. I am not a picky person, but this is one of the worse Famcamps I have ever been to and I will never return. The sites are backed behind some were tall pine trees and there is no way of getting signal. We are using our OTA antenna with pretty good results. We have not checked out the bath house as we use our own.

Things here are still pretty much the same. However, the materials for sewer hookup are on site and no one seems to know much about them. Talking to other people, they have been here for about 2 months. My neighbor has been here for over a year. He has something to do with the base operations and did know some of the things that were being done on base, but even he didn't know when the sewer would be in. With sewer hookups here, it could be a better campground. Having to go on base to dump station is somewhat of a pain. The company that services the porta potty here will do your tanks for you at a reasonable price. When I was here last year, everyone was taking "blue boy's" to center of campground and they were emptied by this company. Again, this is a good stopping off place and possible place to stay while exploring the area. Not that far to shore, Atlantic City or Cape May. Also close to Philadelphia. I will probably be staying here again.

Not much has changed since the last time I stayed here. However, the Air Force has taken over base maintenance and has add new water spigots here. Now you will no longer need hoses over 50 feet if that much. Instead of just the two, there are now eight. The Air Force has also started upgrading some of the buildings on base. Yesterday when I went to the BX, there was no guard at the gate between Ft. Dix and Maguire. Maybe things are changing. I was surprised to see so many campers here. Some are here for the winter. Mainly active duty people. Again, not a bad place to stay and handy to most everything.

It's a strange campground. It's right on the rifle range which is only used a couple of days a week but it's small and mostly out in the hot sun. The trees are directly BEHIND the campsites. There is no sewage, but you can dump at Willow Pond campground, a few miles away, which is DEFINITELY the better one. There is a porta potty in the middle of the campsites (there are 12 sites in all) and a shower house and restrooms a short walk through the woods. Shower house (1 shower only) is unisex but it is lockable. No shower curtain and saw quite a few bugs. Wasn't very pleasant. No one checks anything at this campground so everyone just kind of does their thing. We even saw a grey wastewater hose laying in a drainage ditch behind the trailers. There are only two water pipes (between 2-3 and 8-9), so everyone shares those. Lots of water spigots on each pipe, but the farther you are away from those sites, the longer hose you'll need. There are no laundry facilities at the campground. I didn't notice any campsites being small. They all looked the same size to me. They're all back-in and you have plenty of room to navigate in. They are all on grass. There are no picnic tables or grills. Pets are allowed and we saw two of them running loose (with the owner present). There is a nice commissary and BX/PX that is shared by the Maguire AFB adjoining Ft Dix. There is only 20 and 30 amp electric but we ran our A/C and fans, lights and TV with no difficulty. There is no cable but we got 9 channels (not too clear, though). The people in the MWR office are not particularly knowledgeable or even that helpful. They gave us a choice of sites, but one that they gave us was already taken and they knew nothing about it when I called.

This is my second time at this campground. There are 12 spaces but some are small. There are only two water hookups. One is split 4 ways and the other had just the one outlet and the head was cracked so water sprayed everywhere. Most electric hookups are ok, but if you are in an even numbered site, it is on the wrong side. The water hookups are located between sites 2 and 3 (with broken head) and sites 8 and 9. Unless you are close to one of these, you need a lot of water hose. The dump station is at Willow Pond, located on base about 3 miles away. It is normally very quiet here. The $100 a week is not too bad, but $20 a day is no bargain. It is a nice place to get away from it all because most of the time there is no one around. The skeet club is here on weekends, but just do their thing and do not bother you. At the easterly end of the campground, beyond the trees there is a building with showers. There is a porta potty on site, so two weeks without dumping is not a problem. Last time here I went 3 weeks.
