We arrived today and I wished we had never found the place. I don't know how they can call this a Famcamp. They had 30 amp service which is very low power, around 107 volts. The circuit breaker keeps popping even with just 1 AC on. They do have sewer in now and that is about it. Our Verizon MIFI comes and goes, but mostly goes. The sites are on grass/sand and needs mowing. The commissary/BX are about 5 miles away which is very well stocked. I am not a picky person, but this is one of the worse Famcamps I have ever been to and I will never return.
The sites are backed behind some were tall pine trees and there is no way of getting signal. We are using our OTA antenna with pretty good results. We have not checked out the bath house as we use our own.

Things here are still pretty much the same. However, the materials for sewer hookup are on site and no one seems to know much about them. Talking to other people, they have been here for about 2 months. My neighbor has been here for over a year. He has something to do with the base operations and did know some of the things that were being done on base, but even he didn't know when the sewer would be in. With sewer hookups here, it could be a better campground. Having to go on base to dump station is somewhat of a pain. The company that services the porta potty here will do your tanks for you at a reasonable price. When I was here last year, everyone was taking "blue boy's" to center of campground and they were emptied by this company. Again, this is a good stopping off place and possible place to stay while exploring the area. Not that far to shore, Atlantic City or Cape May. Also close to Philadelphia. I will probably be staying here again.

Not much has changed since the last time I stayed here. However, the Air Force has taken over base maintenance and has add new water spigots here. Now you will no longer need hoses over 50 feet if that much. Instead of just the two, there are now eight. The Air Force has also started upgrading some of the buildings on base. Yesterday when I went to the BX, there was no guard at the gate between Ft. Dix and Maguire. Maybe things are changing. I was surprised to see so many campers here. Some are here for the winter. Mainly active duty people. Again, not a bad place to stay and handy to most everything.

It's a strange campground. It's right on the rifle range which is only used a couple of days a week but it's small and mostly out in the hot sun. The trees are directly BEHIND the campsites. There is no sewage, but you can dump at Willow Pond campground, a few miles away, which is DEFINITELY the better one. There is a porta potty in the middle of the campsites (there are 12 sites in all) and a shower house and restrooms a short walk through the woods. Shower house (1 shower only) is unisex but it is lockable. No shower curtain and saw quite a few bugs. Wasn't very pleasant. No one checks anything at this campground so everyone just kind of does their thing. We even saw a grey wastewater hose laying in a drainage ditch behind the trailers. There are only two water pipes (between 2-3 and 8-9), so everyone shares those. Lots of water spigots on each pipe, but the farther you are away from those sites, the longer hose you'll need. There are no laundry facilities at the campground. I didn't notice any campsites being small. They all looked the same size to me. They're all back-in and you have plenty of room to navigate in. They are all on grass. There are no picnic tables or grills. Pets are allowed and we saw two of them running loose (with the owner present). There is a nice commissary and BX/PX that is shared by the Maguire AFB adjoining Ft Dix. There is only 20 and 30 amp electric but we ran our A/C and fans, lights and TV with no difficulty. There is no cable but we got 9 channels (not too clear, though). The people in the MWR office are not particularly knowledgeable or even that helpful. They gave us a choice of sites, but one that they gave us was already taken and they knew nothing about it when I called.

This is my second time at this campground. There are 12 spaces but some are small. There are only two water hookups. One is split 4 ways and the other had just the one outlet and the head was cracked so water sprayed everywhere. Most electric hookups are ok, but if you are in an even numbered site, it is on the wrong side. The water hookups are located between sites 2 and 3 (with broken head) and sites 8 and 9. Unless you are close to one of these, you need a lot of water hose. The dump station is at Willow Pond, located on base about 3 miles away. It is normally very quiet here. The $100 a week is not too bad, but $20 a day is no bargain. It is a nice place to get away from it all because most of the time there is no one around. The skeet club is here on weekends, but just do their thing and do not bother you. At the easterly end of the campground, beyond the trees there is a building with showers. There is a porta potty on site, so two weeks without dumping is not a problem. Last time here I went 3 weeks.
