R.L. left this review using the Directory software: - This campground has been totally updated and is a place to stay and unwind. As stated before there is a children's pool but they have now added a mushroom-looking water system that showers down into the pool. There are lounge chairs around the pool for watching young ones. A wonderful playground. It is just about empty and I don't understand it. There are two trailers, 1 tent and 2 motorhomes. It seems like a heavenly place for families to come. We were here over Memorial Day and it was still nearly empty. Just a couple miles off I-75 and so easy for North or South travel. They have put a lot of money in this place and people are not using it as I would think. It is a shame. Be sure to visit on your way up I-75 or South I-75. This is our 2nd time here and we've seen such a difference. We will be back.

This was our second stay at Grassy Pond in the last two months. It is a real gem! Easy to get to, great location, lots of shade trees, and large spaces. We will definitely come back here again!

This was our very first Military campground stay. It was only 3 miles off the 75, check-in was easy, had a full hook-up pull thru site for $20!!!! Called ahead for directions but could barely hear the young man working the desk, too soft spoken. This was just a one night stop on our way to the GA mountains, beautiful lake with big oak trees. Would definitely stay again!

J.H. left this review using the Directory software: - 5 sites (on L) are for short term stays and are full hook-ups/pull-thrus. Recommended that you drive to office first-and do a 180° turn back to sites. A campground map is available now, and they will take reservations.

Second time at this CG and we were very pleased with it. Stayed in main camping area sites were fairly level, gravel and remained pretty dry with the half inch of rain we had. Water, sewer, power 30/50 amp, CATV and WIFI available with pretty good signal. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained, shower was barley warm when I used it but my wife said it was piping hot when she went earlier, I'd say she used all the hot water. There are a few docks on the lake and a nice concrete boat ramp. Valdosta is about 15 minutes away and the Florida state line is about 10, Moody AFB is another 10 to 15 minutes past Valdosta off I-75. Wal Mart is about 15 miles and the best place I found for fuel was Flash Foods on the east side of I-75, gas and diesel were both cheaper than competition. I will visit again.

Only stayed one night but nice CG. Called a week prior for reservation and had no problem at all checking in. Note, you must go past the camping area to the office by the lake to check in. They have a few items in the small store at check-in and sell beer by the glass or pitcher, They also rent canoes, boats, paddle-boats, you must have a Moody AFB fishing license and well as state to fish in the lake. There is a 3 mile trail that goes around the lake and when we were on it it was well maintained. Sites are gravel, fairly flat and have 30/50 amp service, sewer, water, and limited cable television. All sites have concrete patio and picnic table, some have a freestanding grill. Bath room is across the street from main camping area but the big bath room on the main side is being worked on to serve as a community center as well and should be completed this year. Overall this is a well maintained CG and a pleasure to stay in. I will stay here again and recommend it as a good pit stop for travelers.

This is our first time visiting this campgroud but it will not be our last. The campground is clean and well maintained by the staff.I understand this campground use to be full of homesteaders but they are gone and there is now a 60 day stay limit. The campground is currently undergoing several renovations that should be done in 60 - 90 days. There are plenty of good eating places in the area. PX, commissary, wal-mart, etc are all within about 30 minutes of the campground. If you are looking for a nice quiet leisure place to visit I would deffinetly recommend this campground.

Very nice site. It was too cold for us to wander, but there's a nature hike and the hills look like good bike riding :) No open campfires, but the sites are nice and clean, and have a bbq. My only complaint, and it's tiny, is that there were not enough hooks in the shower area to hang your clothes. Otherwise, the facilities were great. Looking forward to coming back in the spring!

Easy to find the campground off I-75. There were no signs to the office where we were supposed to check in but we figured it out. We unhooked our towed car and found after we did that there is a turn around in the parking lot near the office. Not very convenient but no big deal. The campground was very well maintained with grass mowed and camp sites in good order. We wanted to use our in-motion satellite for TV and moved to an open site which they accommodated for us. We enjoyed a hike around the lake on the Nature Trail near the campground. The laundry was small but has two washers and four dryers at $1 and $1.25 a load. We camped in a 40' MH and will be back.

Rates are now $20.00 per night, $120.00 per week and $400.00 per month. Campground has been cleaned up since last year when we were here. All the semi-permanent residents are now gone and at this time there were only 4 RV's in the campground. There are other improvements scheduled for Grassy Pond in the coming year and a half that will improve the facility.

Stayed here 2 weeks. I'm not a number rater, either I like a campground or I don't. Well, I like this famcamp! Very quite and peaceful. Had full hookups (water, sewer, elec, cable,). Wifi located near office. Had a lot of snowbirds here, but they keep some sites for short term stays. Host always had something going on to keep you entertained. Shopping & dining out close by. The base is actually about 20 miles away. Will certainly come here again.

My wife, my grandchildren and I spent Thanksgiving weekend at Grassy Pond Campground. We only live 60 miles from Grassy Pond in North Florida. I am so glad they now take reservations as that has been a drawback that has prevented us from staying here in the past. Upon arrival the Campground Host directed us to our site and assisted me in backing into the site. Grassy Pond Recreation Area is very clean and the staff members were very friendly. It is a very short drive to Wild Adventures Theme and Animal Park. Our grandchildren had an outstanding time. We look forward to many more visits in the future.

D.S. left this review using the Directory software: - When all the planned updates are completed this will be a super RV stop, off IS-75. The quietest RV park I have ever found.

J.H. left this review using the Directory sofwtare: Nice facility....the only problem we saw was where office was compared to campsites..When temps are in 100's it is hard to walk downhill for check in after you find your site. I recommend checking in @ office then when you locate site you can CALL them with site # or they can provide one. Other then that It was restful.

R.P. left this review using the Directory software: This campground is great for an overnight stop this time of year. Its clean, plenty of available sites which are spacious, gravel, and level. All the activities listed in other reviews do not happen this time of year. Office personnel were helpful. Take plenty of bug repellent with you as gnats abound.

BUGS!! This is south Georgia, but even for south Georgia, there are a LOT of bugs in the baths. This is a beautiful place though, and the 2 employees I spoke with on the phone and in person were very nice. Spaces are large and well maintained. Wifi and cable, small fenced toddle/ little kid pool, very nice docks, a few boats that appear to be available for rent, including paddle boats. Gators and snakes likely in the ponds, so I would not want to swim in those. This camp is very close to I-75 and great for a stopover, but we're thinking about a long weekend here to visit a nearby amusement park and wild animal safari. Clubhouse looks fun too, with billiard tables.

What a welcoming place. Staff and hosts, Becky and Jim, are all really, really, fantastic! Talk about a place where people go out of their way to help you. Lots of planned activities too. Loved the grounds and hook-ups, even in overflow. Cant wait to come back here again. Make sure you get over to drink some of Dewayne's coffee every morning... Great coffee and it's free thanks to the management... Speaking of management, new manager, Michael, is over the top in doing a great job.....Thank you ALL for such a wonderful stay..... The only thing that would make it nicer is a bigger club house....

P.B. left this review using the Directory software: We were pleasantly surprised and found the camp to be a delightful experience. It is about 40 minutes drive from Moody AFB, but Wal-Mart’s and the city of Valdosta is only a 20 minute drive away. There is a Win Dixie just down the street in Lake Park also. The camp host and staffs were wonderful and there were plenty of activities going on from pot luck supper to a Sunday morning breakfast for five dollars. The proceeds are used for the Thursday evening pot luck. The evening fire in the ring located in center of the camp was delightful also. Most of the campers gathered around the fire to socialize and everyone felt quite at home. We will defiantly go back to Grassy Pond. We felt so much at home and welcome we extended a few nights and were actually sort of sad to leave and move on.

The set up of the campground is probably the best we have stayed at so far. The sites are spread out so you are not on top of your neighbor and there is plenty of trees so you don't feel like you are in a parking lot like at other parks. The camp host is great and met us at check in and led us to our spot. Our spot was pretty unlevel and the fire pit was full of dirt which is fine but doesn't earn a 5 rating. The community center is nice and is maintained well by the community of campers. The snowbird community there is very nice and welcoming. The campground is conveniently located to I-75 and to Wild Adventures (amusement park/zoo). Only complaints are the lake is still down due to the Dam break but has been fixed and will hopefully be full of water soon; also we were told reservations are not accepted but when we arrived we were told that they are holding some sites (the nice ones) for snowbirds...so no reservations unless you are a regular. Other than that small stuff it is a very very nice campground with a nice staff and community and we plan to return when we can.

Stopped for a one night stay en-route to Pelican Roost in Mayport Florida. Had made a phone call and was told to just pick a site for the night but was met by the host as I pulled into the camp and directed to an easy access, pull through site near the clubhouse. Was invited to potluck dinner in clubhouse so I walked down to office, checked in for the night and had a wonder dinner with the folks staying at Grassy Pond. The lake is still down due to the dam bursting during the summer. There are some new trailers around for rentals and the camp itself looked well kept. The new Flying J fuel station at Exit 2 may hurt some with their free overnight stays and a new Denny's restaurant there. Overall enjoyed the stay and the hospitality of the host and campers.
