Great little FamCamp if you have to be in the area. Close to everything. If you want a quiet place to camp, it's great. Neat, clean and nicely run. lived in area and worked on base for 7 years0 of 0 people found the following review helpful
Always very clean, quiet. Very close to bx and commissary. As for showers, if you have a toad why not use the gym showers. Really not that far to walk if you are in good shape. Lunch at the club is very good and close by. 9-10 Jan 20090 of 0 people found the following review helpful
Small campground within walking distance of most of the facilities on base. VERY clean. Great location in Altus for house hunting, exploring the area, etc. We will be going back in the spring. Nov 1, 20081 of 1 people found the following review helpful
J.H. left this review using the Directory software: Small, well kept campground. Level concrete pads with full hook-ups and picnic table. Outdoor Adventure Center staff was friendly and helpful. The sign at the campground incorrectly directs personnel to check in at the bowling alley. The bowling alley personnel said the check-in moved to the ITT/Outdoor Adventure Center six months ago. 1 Oct - 14 Oct 080 of 0 people found the following review helpful
Not a bad place to stay if your looking for a break from the road. They don't have bathrooms, laundry, or wifi. Still, a quiet place, full hook ups, and only $11.00 a night. Nice place to walk the dogs, and watch the sunset. The gym is okay, commissary and bx are what your would expect from a small base. 12 May 20081 of 1 people found the following review helpful
Check-in on week days at Outdoor Rec. Building (Until 1800) about 3 Blocks from RV spaces. The Base Gate Security were great to Check-in through. Spaces Very Clean, 1 Porto Potty, Looks like possible Tent Sites but did not Check if available. Commissary Closed on Mondays. 14 Mar 081 of 1 people found the following review helpful
Clean as a whistle!! Huge turn around area for backing in...nice tables, private trash kiosks, and easy to find. Only drawback is that there isn't any shower, bath or latrine facilities at the camp. Commissary and BX are across the street and within walking distance. No camp host - check in and out at the bowling alley, apparently open 24 hours a day. Can't beat the value for $11. No wifi, however there is service at the library, and also there are four computers with wired access available for guest use at the base lodging office lobby. They work very well. Stayed here for 1 week while waiting for a house. Facilities are new, easy back in spots. Few trees for shade. Tends to flood during hard-sustained rainfall, which is rare in this area. While we were there, a storm dumped 2 inches in 25 minutes!! Got up to 3 inches deep around the trailer. The "flooding" only lasted about 30 minutes. Working on new drainage construction which should prevent this in the future. No showers and 2 port-a-potties next to the site. Mar 20065 of 5 people found the following review helpful
Still 7 spaces, but are excellent back-ins with 50 Amps, full hookup. Port-A-Potty, No showers. Literally across the street from BX and commissary. |
