July 2015

This is a nice quiet and peaceful park. I am giving it a lower rating for distance from main gate. It is 11 miles from gate 1. If you don't mind remoteness and quiet this is a great park. It is small with varying length sites. We tend to like state parks and COE parks so don't need a lot of amenities. There are 2 washers and 2 dryers outside of bathhouse. They are free. Because of the distance from gate it would be nice if they accepted reservations.

November through December 2014

Monthly rates are now $350 per month. We are staying here now for 2 months (the maximum) right on the lake. VERY quiet, small place. No Internet or cable available. Takes about 20-25 minutes to drive to the area from the Fort Gordon front gate.

This place is a gem; MUCH more convenient to the Augusta attractions, and of course much closer to the Ft. Gordon amenities than the Pointes West campground 25 miles from the base and 17 miles from Augusta. Right on a lake (no boating), clean, grounds well maintained, plenty of space beween units with 50 amp service, children's playground equipment, trees. No sewer hookups, but everyone drains gray water on the ground (I ran a long garden hose to the woods behind me). Level sites. I could not get satellite with my roof top dish, but could have with a portable dish (one guy had a roof top internet satellite dish). I saw a copy of the plans to improve the campground, and it's going to be even better, with sewer hookups. All sites big rig friendly (change the red X above to a green check mark). Several rental trailers. I saw the plans for the improvement they're goiong to make to the campground, and it'll be first class, with double the amount of sites, and sewer. Steve Turney
