All the military Camp Host positions I know of are Volunteer giving compensation with a free site....I refer you to AR 215 which covers all you need to know about Camp Hosting...

This may true for the Army, but I know of USAF and Navy hosts that are either Non-Appropriated Funds (NAF) employees or are private contractors.

When I hosted at Onslow Beach, I was a contractor with a contract that specified duties and compensation (camp site).

We just signed a contract verifying that we understand our duties, but we are not limited to length of stay. We are considered to be volunteer for MWR/NAF...Sorry, should have been more specific earlier..
