I am retired AF and currently working fulltime. My better half and I are serious about RVing. We have been looking at and considering a 5th wheel mostly due to the cost of a motorhome pusher. We are on the edge of buying a Big Horn and probably a used F350 to pull it. The big change though is because we are neither at retirement(early 50's) age so we are looking at working gigs where ever we head for the time being. Just getting tired of the same old rut and we want to do some travel and see the U.S. I am an Electrical Controls Engineer and she is an RN. Is there anyone out there working on the road and have any good input? What are our odds of success? We are anxious in starting out somewhere in California.

We are full time, in HR 5th wheel and dodge 3500, there is lots of work as camp hosts, also a big market for RV contract work, don't know where you get the leads, but we run into RV and DR who take 6 month contracts at quite a good salary all over the us, even the VA hospitals use contracts. if you want referals on the hosting, email back there are great companies and really bad companies. one could host and travel to other jobs following the weather...

I can't even begin to tell you how many traveling RN's I have met on the road. You with an electrical background should be able to pick up a Work Kamper gig just about any campground you go to..Go to workamper.com and take a look at what thay have..

Well it is good to always have a RN out there to assist other RVers who may become ill and also an Electrical Engineer, so come on in the water is fine.
