We are frequent users of military famcamps and have made reservations at Ft. Lewis a number of times. I was surprised to learn today, that I was charged a $10 cancellation fee against my $25 deposit. And the cancellation was 20 days in advance. Is this a new practice? Has it been found at other locations.

Never stayed at Ft. Lewis but it does apply to some of the FamCamps and they usually have the policy of telling you when you call to make a reservation that a cancellation processing fee will apply and how far in advance you can cancel without the fee. Hope this is not a new trend that is crossing over from private campgrounds, they can be very strict with cancellation fees.
