I have only been RVing fo one year. I am about to buy a new RV. Around 34 ft. I have a 31ft class C that gets 6 miles to the gallon. Do any of the class A's do any better. Every dealer gives me a diferent answer.

I rented a 25' class C a few years ago and got 10 MPG on a trip from Florida to Niagara Falls.

I now have a 1997 32' Class A Bounder with a 460 CI gas engine. I get 7 MPG with that, not using the generator.

We're on our 3rd gas class A. I'm generally in the 6-7 mpg range.

7 mpg, 55 or 70 mph, uphill or downhill, pulling a Jeep 4-dr Wrangler, GWR 45K.

13.5 on the coastal plain. 10.7 in the mountains. I keep the RPM at 2000 giving me 62 MPH.

Take a look in the Technical Issues and find the MPG topic with 30 responses it might give you some answers to your question. I think you will find most gas powered Class A's around the 34' size will give you a 6-8 MPG range. The speed you drive will affect the MPG as many drivers say they have slowed down and get better mileage and the weight of your tow vehicle will have some bearing on it too as many have already mentioned.

I own a 5th wheel that is 30 ft and pull in with a 2500 gmc diesel and get 11 to 12 mpg when towing at 63

I find that I get the best mileage when running at 63/64 and 1750RPM. Depending on the terrain that can be 13/14 or 10/11 MPG. From where we live in NE Ohio, when we head south for the winter our worst day mileage wise is the first - the mountains on I77. Conversely, the last day on the way home in the worst.

With our Volvo 420 pulling our 36 foot 5th wheel I get 10-11 MPG, it has a 10 speed and I am happy with that, Class A mileage differ due to size, weight, engine, drive trane, body shape for areodynamics, and rear end gearing, so no set MPG for a Class A diesel or gas.
