Are there any motorcycle riders around Yuma Proving grounds or in the desert near here that are interested in riding some when the weather warms up? If so contact me via this site or pm me.

My wife and I are planning on being at YPG in Oct of this year. We will be bringing our 08 Sportsters with us and plan on spending the winter months there (SNOWBIRDS). As this is our first year RVing we are really looking forward to the travels and meeting new friends. I retire on May 29th and we will be traveling from Colorado to Iowa, from there to Louisana and then to Arizona. Could you provide us with an insiders opinion of the YPG CG? Sure would appreciate any info. We will certainly be looking for riding companions while there, hope to see you then. Waiting to hear from you.

Mike, I posted my question in December 08 when I was there for the winter. Left at the end of Feb.09. The riding there is good in the late morning and afternoon. It is cold in the morning most mornings. We won't be there this winter but will be in Mission Tx. The campground is good, reasonable, quite, and has a small commisary and very small px on base. Not much else to do there except to ride in the desert or maybe go fishing. It is about 20 miles to Yuma. The Indian Casino is about the same distance and gives you a 50% discount for food items.
Don't leave your RV without bringing in your awnings. The wind can come pretty quick there. Hope this helps. Good luck.
