What a hidden jewel. This is a fabulous campground. If you like a quiet, beautiful beach this is the place for you. It is quite a distance from the main interstate north, south travel route so this would be a destination campground. It is such a tremendous value. We had a full hook up site (electric, water, sewer), multi channel cable, very fast wifi and a tin roof covered picnic table. To top it all off, it is a short walk to a lovely beach or to the pier at the intercoastal. The check in staff was very helpful. In fact my husband was experiencing some eye problems and they were extremely helpful in finding proper medical care. Also, our motorhome was experiencing some mechanical problems and they worked with us with no hassles to adjust our departure date and provide a refund. The sites are gravel, somewhat spacious but they do slope to the rear. Our Verizon signal was exceptional and we were able to easily use our roof mounted satellite. The base exchange was very large and also the commissary was outstanding. Hated to leave this bit of paradise but hope to return soon.

We were very disappointed there are so many long term campers here. We were here for 6 days and on each side of us our neighbors were not present, only their rigs. The check in staff was very helpful. We did not use the restroom or laundry facilities so cannot comment on them. We were also disappointed there was no cable or wifi. We were able to pick a site where out roof mounted satellite worked and we received 2 local channels on the antennae. Our Verizon signal was very strong. Our site was level as we had two concrete rows to place our wheels. Also there was a nice patio and the sites very relatively spacious. Also liked the close proximity of the commissary and base exchange. If we come to this area again we would try to secure reservations at Sea Mist where we could be closer to the ocean.

We used our visit to Earl as a base to visit New York City. We had site #3 which was very level, spacious, had concrete pad, large area in the front of the site so it was very easy to back into and we had full hookups. The park is very well maintained. We did not use the restrooms or laundry so cannot comment on those facilities. There were some trees to the rear of our campsite so we could not use our roof mounted satellite. However, there were probably several other sites where you would be able to use your roof mounted satellite. We were able to get in most of the major networks on our antennae. Our Verizon cell signal was excellent. One of the very best features is the wifi. The signal was strong and fast. Whenever we contacted Muriel, the manager, she was always extremely helpful. Also, the base has many deer and they are very visible especially at dawn and dusk. A very nice campground and we would definitely return if we are back in the area.

We frequently use this campground as an overnight travel stay. Each time we are always impressed with every aspect of the park. The sites are spacious, level and immaculately maintained. The common area and the restrooms are always very clean and again immaculately maintained. The roads are pot hole free ad level. The staff has always been courteous and helpful. You receive a welcome packet with a wealth of information about the base and the surrounding area. Cannot think of one negative. Each time we stay we always say we need to make our stay longer rather than just an overnight. Maybe someday!!

This campground definitely sets the bar for military campgrounds. It is a perfect 10. The signage to the campground was excellent. The check in staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a nice level pull through site with a huge concrete pad. All the hookups were very convenient and worked well, including the cable tv. The sites were very spacious and pleasant - even had a fire ring!! Also there were some lovely bushes by each site which really gave it a very nice touch rather than just a mass of flat land. Also the wifi was excellent - one of the best and fastest that I have encountered at any campground whether it is military or private. The campground looks out on a lovely lake which has nice benches to relax and enjoy. We were only here for a night so we didn't get to experience any of the amenities (laundry, community room, etc.) My husband said the bathrooms were very up to date and immaculate. In fact, the whole park was extremely well maintained. Hopefully we can stop for a longer visit in the future as we would definitely like to come back. Our hats off to all the people responsible for making this such a fantastic campground.

Very small, nice campground. The campground host, Jeff, definitely deserves 5 stars. He is the heart and soul of this campground. When you come here, you feel like a member of his family. He stops buy to check on you and to see if you have any questions. He has a wealth of information about the area. After talking with Jeff we realized we need to come back another time as there are several historical sites we need to visit. When we went to the commissary, we ran into Jeff again and he asked if we found everything we needed in the store and also asked if we needed help getting our groceries back to our coach. Can you believe that? The sites are a bit close together and there are no bathhouse facilities. We are in a motor home so that wasn't a problem for us. Site was level. Again, we cannot thank Jeff enough for the help in securing our site and all the assistance he lend once we arrived.

This is an extraordinary campground. Check in staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Sites were spaced far from each other which allowed for lots of privacy. The sites were level and well maintained. Very convenient to several walking paths. We would definitely camp here again. It is too bad that the post will be closing. Great location for history buffs and seafood lovers.
