This is the best of 8 Famcamps that I have visited in the last year. It is located a couple miles north of downtown but enough off the main road to be quiet. The camp is relatively new, the laundry and restrooms are very new and impeccably clean. Individual sites are open and of average size. There is WiFi available by the office. There is a common are that serves burgers and drinks in the evening.

We spent 2 nights at Ft Lewis, We arrived without reservations but that wasn't a problem midweek. The staff was very helpful and attentive. The park is beautiful and well maintained. It was a bit of a hassle getting a post pass and getting through the gate as the base is enforcing a 100% ID check. We were in site 122 and it was large enough for the largest motor home. A third of the washing machines were out of order so it took a while to get a washer in the laundry but it was comfortable while waiting as there is WiFi in the waiting area.

Based on the previous reviews there must be improvement. The billeting office was very friendly and helpful. The site is pretty bare but I have good electricity and water in site #11. According to billeting 11 out of the 12 sites are booked. We were planning on stopping in Paso Robles but all the RV parks wanted over $30 and one wanted $45+ so at $10 this is a great value.
