This is a nice treed c/g. There's a pool, boat rentals, big clubhouse. Lots of card playing etc. at night. It's at Exit 5 at Lake Park, which has huge Outlet Mall. Lots of activity at this exit but at the c/g it's quiet, though you're only few minutes from I-75. I'd like to stay a few weeks.

This campground is not Big Rig friendly. Lots of big pine trees. While most Class A motorhomes should have no problem; very few sites will accomodate 40' 5th wheel trailers with long wheel-based towing vehicles. The dirt/sand road leading into the campground was hard-packed and in good shape. (About .1 miles of the road was somewhat wash-board; but not that bad.) We were able to find a break in the trees and got our satellite to work and it stayed locked in all three days we were there. The campground host is a good guy - a young second lieutenant who volunteers to handle the duties as his community service. All but two sites were full when we got there. We did blow the breaker one time; but that was our fault for trying to run too much stuff on the 30 amp circuit. The tent sites that were occupied were largely taken by hunters to include civilians who can use the facilities. Probably a third of the sights were long-term occupants who work on the installation proper, which is 5-6 miles west of the campground.

Very friendly hosts - MWR told us there was plenty of space so we showed up without reservations - CG was FULL. Hosts found us a temporary site and provided adapters so we could share hookups with an existing site. They stated they never turn anyone away. 2 Nice lakes that should be good for fishing. Many very long term residents.

Road into and throughout campground are dirt & very dusty. Sites have concrete pad but poor 30amp electric. Lots of trees & could not get sattelite, however, price is right with Golden Age Pass at $6/nite.

Grassy Pond is a small rustic campground with gravel back-in and pull-thru sites. It is located 26 miles south of MOODY AFB making trips to the base a long one. A WAL-MART is located about 15 miles to the north of the campground. The campground is in need of repair. The gravel roads inside the campground had potholes impossible to avoid. The cable TV hook-up once there, no longer works. The 3.1 mile hiking trail is nice however the walking bridges are in need of repair. There are a couple long term, permanent campers located near the entrance of the campground. These campers are in need of repair or removal. Debris and 2 broken down boats are also in the area of the permanent RVrs. Activities involve nightly card games and dominos played in the "Round House" located in the center of the campground. Also the community fire pit located in the center of the campground burns almost nonstop in the winter. Thursday night POT luck dinners and Sunday morning breakfast (camp host sponsored) for 3.50 a person. I rented a cabin for visiting family and had to clean the cabin to bring it up to standard and the heater failed to work. Bottom line is Grassy Pond could be a nice park with more involvement by management.

The campsite community center is very nice. This is the first Famcamp that we came across that have several amenities that we can use for free. There are cable TV, DVD player, computer section, kitchen area, very nice laudry section and large shower stalls. The campsite is very nice and clean. It is rare for military Famcamp to have a cable hookup.

Good rental trailers. RV sites looked good, though have yet to try them. Good location, not too far off the beaten path. Valdosta (Wild Adventures Park) is just around the corner. Good shopping/eateries nearby. Easy access to interstate. Friendly staff, good grounds, overall nice area. Will visit again.

The Lake is quite low right now making the appearance of the grounds ugly. It is still possible to launch a boat into the Lake. During the summer this must be a great place to come. There are a lot of things to enjoy here. We would come again. The only spaces that really accomodate 40 foot RV's are in camp area #2.

Still a great campground. The lady in the office is very pleasant and easy to talk with. The location is very good. Base facilities are excellent. The gravel road is tamped down some, apparently by RV traffic. However, it needs intensive rolling with a steam roller before it is acceptable for a bicycler. I would still recommend this place highly and this is my third visit and I expect to visit again.

Great campground, lots of rain this weekend and no signs of drainage problem. The gravel has been tramped down from the RV use and was not a problem. Great biking and hiking trails, huge lake right at park for Kayaking or Canoeing or fishing. Great hosts and park personnel, CLEANEST park I have stayed in. Will be better when bushes planted between sites grow a litte, no shade. Full hookups incluing cable, beautiful fences around RV connection area on site. All paved and level sites. The common use building is spotless and full of extras. All cement level pads, back in and pull thru. full hookups including cable TV, Showers and bathroom. Common area building with full kitchen for large meals. Large screen TV sofas, and easy chairs.

Sites are dirt or gravel (not paved) and not pull through.

We were very disappointed in this FamCamp. The slab where we were assigned was a joke for a big rig. We over-hung by about 20'. The front of our motorhome was so far off the ground that we had to use a stool under the steps in order to enter the coach. A ladder would have been better. The interior roads are not paved and threw dust on our tow car. It very much reminded us of an old outdated state park more so than a military FamCamp. The good part, it was easy to find. The woman on the desk was more interested in leaving early than taking time to register us. (We were there an hour and a half before closing time). Compared to all the other Fam Camps we've stayed, this one was inferior. We stayed one night.
