Tent area is at south east end of base lakefront. Tent campground has no hookups and has portajons for toilets. RV campground is at northeast corner of base. Marina has good selection of fishing equipment, bait, outdoor rental equipment, popup campers and some other camping equipment. Can't beat the view of the sun rising over Lake Michigan in the morning! I downgraded from a 5 due to no flush toilets (pit) close by and some of the concrete pads fill with water when it rains hard. Quiet location and excellent campground for viewing the sights in Chicago or Milwaukee. Excellent customer service at the Marina, reservations accepted.

We found this campground to be very neat, tree shaded with grill at each site, paved and level long pads, extremely clean laundry and shower facilities, friendly host and close to all base amenities. A very refreshing stop on our trip west. Gasoline on base is about 3 cents cheaper than town. Get a 15 cent per gallon discount on the first 20 gallons by spending $50.00 or more at the BX. Access is easy as the highway ends at the main gate. Large rigs may want to use the "commercial truck" entry to the right (our 26.5 Lazy Daze with Honda Element tow maneuvered the barriers easily). From gate the drive to the campground is short and easy.

The campground was great. The sites were easy to use, level and most had shade trees. The sites are spread out and you have some space between you and the next unit. We watched deer come out every evening. Kids loved it. We did not get mobile phone coverage out in this area and the playgrounds could have used some grass cutting. Other than that, we definitely plan to re-visit this campground.

Nice campground. No shade. Noise from airport. Overall I would give it a 4. Concrete slab, water, electric, and sewer.

The campsite is located on the lake. It is surrounded by lots of trees, which the camp site is on the curvy hill. The road is very narrow, it is hard to get around if you have a big RV. However, the staff is very nice and helpfull.

One of the best campgrounds I've been in (military or civilian). CAble and local phone service at most sites. We also used a chalet once. Only average condition. Very friendly people.

Attempted to stay here after the "No Pets" at the Army Campground but the roads were nearly impossible to traverse with our motorhome and the sites were impossible with a 40' rig. Had to leave and go elsewhere.

If you have a satelite intenet dish mounted on your vechicle you will probably not be able to connect. The nature center has been closed.

Level sites. These people were very nice.

This is a beautiful campground with Lake Luna and Lake Scout close by. Many health walking trails. According to the camp host, the sites are rarely available. Some people have been there for months. They do keep a FEW sites for reservations. Camp host was gracious to park us in a grass spot and we shared utilities (water and electric only). The grass spot barely accommodated a 27 1/2 foot Fifth Wheel because of hanging tree branches. There is a nature center where the FAMCamp office is located and a playground for the kids. Sites are concrete and large. Mostly back in sites. Laundry facilities in campground where bathrooms are located. 2 washers and 2 dryers costing 75 cents each. Bathrooms and showers were kept very clean. I did not see a dump station as the sites are full hookups. Campground located off Twelfth street in southeast corner of base near new housing, Lake Luna, and horse stables.

Absolutely the worst military campground I've ever visited. We drove thru the campground once thinking it was an overflow area! The only connection was water, no dump station close, toilets a good hike away, no showers, located on the far side of the base and worse still the civilian population has access to the marina, so they can access the campground, which would be a security issue. We left the place in disgust and actually stayed at a Wal-Mart instead as it seemed safer and had 24 hr security and access to a bathroom and shopping!

Lots to do in Savannah! Hunter AAF is in a major improvement mode, new housing, barracks, support facilities, etc. Looks like it will stay open Located in the boonies and security may be an issue even though on base. Long way to base facilities; golf course is close. Good view of salt marsh, gravel road access, water only.

FamCamp direction signs have not been updated, due to the Gate change,Its difficult to find. When we arrived the office was closed and the camp Host was not there. Instructions for self registration were not clear and we found 3 sites that were listed as reserved. Did not know if we should pull into the reserved sites or not , so we left.

The campground is much improved since our last visit. Very clean, well maintained with separate showers for the additional sites across the road. Personnel extremely friendly & courteous. Glad we gave it another chance.
