The RV park is looking rather unkempt. Grass unmowed, serious potholes developing in the asphalt, power pedestals rusty and leaning over- some sites had no usable electricity. Best view sites are 31-35. Laundry has 2 coin-op washers and 2 dryers (one out of order) but lack of use? has left the washers with an odd smell inside. Adequate Verizon signal for aircard and phone. We enjoyed our stay here and would come again.

Very nice little FamCamp. We are here in the off-season, so no water or sewer, but $10 for 50amp power is a bargain! It was great fun to see the resident antelope herd wandering through the campground. Nicely wooded with level gravel sites, some pull-throughs for big rigs. We chose a back-in and it was just barely big enough for our 34' Class A, even hanging off the back of the site. We arrived on a Saturday when Gate 2/Missile Drive was closed- Outdoor Rec had told us to use Gate 5 on Central Ave (which also turned out to be closed) but the guy in the Pass and ID Office said Gate 5 was for commercial rigs only (even though the highway signs say vehicle combinations over 30' use Gate 5) Anyway, we used Gate 1/Randall Drive. No problems. If you enter at Gate 1, do NOT come into the FamCamp directly from Randall Drive with a high-profile rig- there is an 11' underpass at the entrance to the FamCamp. Cut over to Missile Drive by going left (south)on Old Glory Rd or S. Frontier Rd. The FamCamp is just a short ways past the commissary and exchange complex, on the right hand (north) side of Missile Drive. We got a decent Verizon signal for our Internet aircard and for the phone as well. No signal for our ATT aircard.

This is a big city campground, with lots of concrete, lots of RVs and lots of traffic noise. Great mountain backdrop, however. No complaints about the facility. Not our particular cup of tea, but convenient for a night or two in El Paso. Easy to get to off Hwy 54, close to but not on base.

A great overnight near Del Rio. The campground itself is pretty desolate, but the pull-through site on cement with 50 amp and full hookups for $10 cannot be beat. Pleasant staff. It would have been helpful if the way to the office had been marked; when you enter the park, turn right, in front of the cottages and continue straight to the beige building near the water. Good ATT aircard signal.

We love this place. We stayed on the grass sites at Paradise Cove. Since we are able to entertain ourselves just fine, we don't care about organized activities, so we can't comment on that, but we had a big site, quiet neighbors, steady electricity and everything was spic and span. We couldn't get the WiFi to work, but since we normally use a Verizon aircard anyway, it wasn't an issue. We love being near the water and enjoy all the fishing, and the base provides a nice little commissary and Exchange. We enjoy Corpus and the surrounding area, so this place works just great for us.
