We spent a week here and found the location to be excellent for day trips into Washington DC which was the main purpose of our visit. Overall AAFB is convenient and we'd stay here again if visiting D.C. We used the Metro everyday without incident. The office can answer questions on where to catch the train. GREAT transportation option! The office staff is helpful and efficient but not overly friendly. Sometimes it was hard to find anyone. There were issues with sewer overflow in the Men's Showers plus a water pipe broke resulting in no water for a time. It was repaired rather quickly. There is a sign in the laundry room that the water MAY discolor your clothes. Yep ... it did but it's nothing bleach can't remove at another laundromat. The roads inside the FamCamp really need attention. We laughed at the "speed bump" signs because there are enough potholes to slow everyone done.

GREAT place to stay especially if you have someone stationed here like we do. The staff was VERY HELPFUL and FRIENDLY. We were lucky to be assigned Site #2 right next to the Camp Hosts. We were told they had just caught a poisonous snake in Site #2 and that there are "gators" in the pond. That didn't bother us since we were in the woods of Georgia and anticipate various wildlife. We never saw any critters except birds. The entrance to the FamCamp looked as if it had recently been landscaped and the road paved. Very impressive entrance. Just be aware that there is a one lane road around the pond as you drive into the park. We were there a week and did not encounter problems. Wonderful to have 50 amp for the A/C!!! While there didn't seem to be much in the way of local restaurants around Ft. Stewart, Tybee Island and Savannah solved that challenge. It was nice having the Commissary nearby for groceries although it was not open on weekends (which seemed odd), hence, a trip to Wal-Mart. We did not have a need to use the laundry or any other amenities. TV reception is minimal without satellite which can be a challenge as mentioned by others. We enjoyed our stay very much and are headed back for another week toward the end of August. The Bolon's from Arizona

Our first visit here proved to be a wonderful experience. Thank goodness for that because we were staying several days. We have a 40 ft motorhome with 3 slides plus a towed vehicle. We were met and welcomed in the parking lot, we were efficiently registered and then escorted to our choice of sites. The office staff along with our escort were very friendly and helpful. The RV sites are very well maintained plus ours had a beautiful view of the lake. Our site was also very spacious with a concrete table and large wooded area with grass next to our rig. We were very impressed with our overall experience; so much so that we are going to stay there again for a few days on our way through the area. We highly recommend a visit in order to stay in operation. The Bolon's from Arizona

We stayed at Ft Chaffee RV Park for 5 nights. The park is clean, quite and well maintained. The online directions in this guide are spot on plus Park Host (CSM) Jim Burdick has posted excellent signage along the route to guide you into the park. Jim and his wife, Barbara became Camp Hosts a year ago this month and have really whipped the place into shape. Jim is extremely helpful in ensuring your rig fits into the best spot, he assists with parking your rig, will provide a map of the surrounding area and tips on area attractions. Jim helped us select the best route from the park to Branson. Jim and his wife Barbara surely made our stay enjoyable. Kudos to you both!
