As stated in a previous review, limited sites because of the rentals. A couple more sites had the homesteaders, complete with boat and numerous vehicles. The site I had was #1 and it had a turnaround right beside it. The bathroom was directly behind the site, so every construction worker zoomed into the turnaround on the gravel drive making their quickest dash to the bathroom, dust a-flying. Bathroom wasn't stocked, so I guess they brought their own. The sites were okay, with new railroad ties being installed marking the sites. The site was full hookup and all worked well. The RR ties do need a break in between to allow sewer hose to remain level for dumping. The site was on the direct approach for the AAF and several flights during the evening were loud, but tolerable. I'm previously a cannon cocker and loved the impact sounds. We are prior military staying on a military base listening to the sound of freedom and will never complain about that. Loved the deer in the area everyday. I will stay again.

I have stayed here a couple of times and still wonder why the FamCamp is not within the confines of Ft Bliss. Anyone can walk or drive into RV Park without going through any security. That's one of the things I like about being around the military is the security. Being around El Paso/Juarez has a reputation with the drug situation. However, I seen the MP's constantly. The RV park has great amenities and has grown the last few years. I think they have done a great job. I was told upon check-in that as long as I picked up after my dogs, everything would be fine. It's a shame that the other folks there are not complying. Walking through the dog walk has many, many "obstacles". Hence my rating for cleanliness. Shame on the dog owners for their lack of compliance. I'll come back again. And one last thing, the PX area is the best I've seen on any military installation with existing store and the other major stores and restaurants soon to be added. Kudos for the approving authority on that.

We stayed Mother's Day weekend and they had a great buffet at the historic Bard House located on base..very good. A must go-to is the Channel Islands Farmers Market on Sunday. Fresh fruits and veggies from the locals. Also fresh fish on the dock. The following weekend was the California Strawberry Festival in Oxnard with a large number of vendors and entertainment. The area has lots to see and do. We liked Ventura, a nice, layed-back town. The FamCamp has gone through renovation and has the best bathhouse I've seen. Very large and very clean. The sites are pull-thru and are large enough to park your towed out of the road. Large community room with big screen tv and computer terminals. WiFi worked well on my site. I recommend this FamCamp and will go back again, when in the area.

This is an extremely nice campground located outside the secure perimeter of Ft Bliss. I was surprised the FAMCAMP and even the some of the base housing are not secure, which is one of the amenities we enjoy. However, the campground is well layed out, is clean and well maintained. The clubhouse has a nice exercise room (mainly treadmills, stairsteppers, and stationary bike). The kitchen is fully loaded, 4-burner stove with full size oven, full-size fridge, microwave, and sink. Some dishes, probably donated, are there for use. The main room has nice leather sectional, 2 Euro-style chairs w/ ottoman. WiFi is available with good signal. I was told WiFi not available on site, however I was on site #2 far away from clubhouse and still got online. The road in and out were no problem with my 40' motorhome w/towed. Great experience and recommend to all.

As previously stated camp hosts are quick to meet and greet. I was briefed on the campground and base. I found the campground to be in good shape and the bathroom and laundry to be adequate. New washers and dryers @ $0.75 a shot. Plenty of room for pets, around the campground or the greener grass across the street. I have a 40' motorhome with toad and didn't have any problem with the 130 degree turn coming in. The base is small and there's a short drive to BX/Commissary. Definitely will return when in area.

I agree the FamCamp is a great place to stop over and visit Boise. It doesn't have much to offer in the way of amenities, but is still a value. The base is nicely groomed and pets have a very spacious area to visit. The gym is about 2 1/2 blocks away and the Shoppette is about 4 blocks away. The Billeting Office personnel were very helpful as were the gate guards. As for Airport noise, if you've ever stayed on an Air Force Base, this is a piece of cake. Great value at $10 for full hookups.

The FamCamp itself doesn't have all the amenities, but the Base does. The Wellness Center (Gym)is located across the street and all other facilities (BX, Commissary, Shoppette, Library, Club, etc) are located less than a 1/2 mile away. Howard, the Camp Host, was very helpful, even though I arrived days earlier than scheduled. He tries to accommodate everybody based on what I seen and from the guests I talked to. The base is in close proximity of restaurants and malls. For anyone interested in genealogy, the Family Library in Temple Square (Salt Lake)is THE place and it's free. The poor rating for cleanliness is because the crew that cleans the bathrooms and laundry rarely shows up and when they do they don't have any standards to speak of. The conditions were unchanged while I was there and there wasn't any supervisors to check their work. But I still like the FamCamp and will return.
