Had a lovely time last season at Trumbo. Enjoyed walking into town, Bingo at the coastguard station plus other events hosted by CG Chiefs. Hope we have the honey wagon that the new manager of the campgrounds said we would this winter. Looking forward to renovated bathhouses at Trumbo. Lkg fwd to another great season at Trumbo.

After reading last review of saying there are no beaches or parking.... One there is a very nice beach on the Atlantic side.. and there is parking on selected side streets and there are a couple public parking lots for a reasonable fee or when you stay at Trumbo you can walk into town and leave your car at your campsite.

Location of RV park is very convenient. Enjoy the golf club for meals and reasonable priced drinks. However it sure would be nice if there was a camp nanny (person who would enforce rules at the campground) a person who lives in campground stays free for taking care of campground and ensures that ALL have a pleasant and safe visit. People that walk their dogs and carry leashes is definitely a NO! NO! Not safe for dog other dogs or people! Had to mention it twice to campground office and nothing changed... dogs were still potting on anyone's property so I finally had to call main office of MWR and dog walkers started actually walking dogs on leash (with leash connected to dog). Besides some people park in the middle of the road so another car cannot pass..leave security doors open on head and laundry which is supposed to be only for campground! This campground really needs a camp nanny!

One comment I have to make first is that of tent campers complaining about price of $12. When the motorcoaches are on dry camping they pay the same and have to deal with inconviences of generator noise and fumes. The motorcoaches only are on full hookup for 2 weeks after dry camping of about 5 weeks when campground is busy. If tent campers think $12 is too much they can go to Boyds and pay $70 a night to camp in Key West! Next most important is we need to get rid of generator noise and pollution by putting in at least electric on all sites. It should not be a problem since housing was there before the campground.

Over all experience very good. Enjoy free movies and games at Big E-Z. Cement pad to park coach and excellent view of woods in back and pond in front. Very quiet and scenic. Only minus point is that you have to travel 1 hour to either St. Simon Island or the same to Amelia Is (preferred Fernandina Beach). Nothing in local area except a little in historic St. Mary's. Something that we feel quite strongly on is letting breeds like Rotweilers in the park that make people feel uncomfortable and afraid especially when the dog doesn't LIKE other DOGS! I feel that certain breeds like Rotweilers, Domermans, Pit Bulls should NOT be allowed in dog friendly parks! Other campgrounds band dangerous breeds. We had a neighbor that has a rotweiler and when we walked by with our dog the rotweiler growled. It made us very nervous and scared. The people quieted rotweiler down right away, BUT I still believe that a dog like a rotweiler should NOT be allowed in any campground because other dogs will be around and people should not have to be afraid to walk their dog by any campsite!

Enjoyed visit very much. One thing RV Park dies not need is a playground!!!! RV Park is for retirees not children!!! We enjoyed facilities on the base such as the Officer's Club, Bowling alley, Commissary, and BX. Looking forward to our next visit in the middle of March.

Checked campground out for friends interested in staying. Not impressed with their pet policy! Why would I want to pay for my pet to stay since their is a pet policy of picking up after your pet! If not adhered to DON'T let THAT PERSON bring a PET. DON'T punish other people who take care of their pets and adhere to the rules!
NO I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS campground to anyone with PETS who DO take care of their PETS!

The location of Sigsbee NAS is great; BUT not being able to make a reservation and not being able to stay on dry camping if you don't want to go to hookup is not right. You should be able to go on a list for hookup and be able to make a reservation to go on hookup when you first get to campground and stay on for 2wks to a month. Then go on a list to go back on hookup. Another thing that would help immensly is ELECTRIC to cut out GENEATOR noise. Hopefully the right people will read this and take some ACTION!

Area is great and at Trumbo by Fly Navy you can walk into downtown KW. The thing that we do not care for is having to move at Sigsbee fam camp. Even if full hook up is available you cannot go on it before being on dry camping. You should be able to make a reservation and be on full hookup at least 2 wks - a month then go on just electric which would also help with generator noise and eliminate not being able to have any electric after 11pm and before 7am. The only thing that people like about Sigsbee and don't mind moving because of BX, commissary and other convieniences make moving somewhat workable.

Excellent view of ships passing by on the St. Johns River. Also enjoyed the bowling alley on base which you could walk to if you pick your ball at alley. Fitness center is also great which also has a great view of the Atlantic which is next to the CPO club. We also enjoyed walking on the beach. It is a very quiet campground with planned activities.
