I first have to say the campground was very well maintained, and was very nice place to visit. I came to this campground due to work in the local area. There was two of use with RV's. When we made our reservations we ask to have both RV's next to each other. We were told they could not make any promises due to the winter inflow of campers, that was no problem, I even told the lady making the reservations it did not matter where in the park if we could be side by side. When we showed up the places they had for us were apart. When we ask Woody about what we had ask for he saidÂ"YOU MUST NOT OF ASK FOR THE SITES TO BE TOGETHER WHEN YOU MADE THE RESERVATIONS OR IT WOULD BE IN THE COMPUTER". So what happened to our request????? He was able to put the two camp sights together after a few minutes on the computer. As it turned out there were PLENTY of open camp sights. There was an entire row behind us and in front of us that was open. So our request fell on deaf ears. Then checking out. From the time we made our reservations to the time we checked in we told the staff our dates to stay there was fluid. We were not sure when we were going be leave (due to work). Well we needed to check out early, we got done with work much earlier than expected. At first we were told there ware no refunds, and we were told of this. Well, after traveling for a day and a half, we might have been told of this, but I sure did not remember. It has been a struggle to get a refund for the five days we did not stay. The staff was unwilling to help and just gave a point of contact for MWR Manager that I had to call to get help with the problem. So my advice with this campground is know the dates you want to stay, no leeway here!!!!!

Great location. Many of the sights are on the Banana River. Great or fishing, or watching the sunset. Several times Dolphin and Manatee came into the cove at the camp sight. The facilities are very well taken care of, and clean. The entire stay went great. IF there was one thing that should be added to the campground is a wi-fi hot spot for access to the Internet. There is a place set up or dial up Internet access, but it is very limited. There is a hot spot at the base Library about 2 miles away. It can be accessed at any time even when it is closed. There is a park just a short walk away. Count on me returning to this campground.
