A camp ground like no other, a view of our Navy, and other ships daily. A true pride of Military camping that all retires should enjoy. The Thanksgiving dinner at the mess hall was the high light of our trip. Woody and Lee work hard to make sure your visit is successful. Ice cream night, pizza night and bingo are fun for all. Don't let this camp ground slip by with out a visit.

Good fishing, great commissary and PX, they now carry diesel on station. Social events include pizza night, ice cream night, vary nice club house. Didn't want to leave. Will be back many times I am sure.

Arrived 10th pouring rain, CG office is not marked one mile from CG. CG host no where to be found tel number not posted for help. Vary muddy in rain needs new gravel, small private showers, some street light work some blink on and off all night, no sewer. Cell phone will not work, satellite hit or miss. CG host had us move in the rain for some one that didn't get there for 2 days. Went home early to emergency room had double pneumonia. Some military CG have organized operations, others have no more than homeless vets, which one do you think we got?

This is our second visit, John is a great help. There was a mix up on where we were to be, but John was there to our rescue. Yes, they have sewer, water, elec, washers, dryers, and clean rest room. But no street lights, gets vary dark at night. Paved roads, paved parking spaces, free movies on Thu Fri Sat Sun night. Charleston is only 1/2 hour away, and tickets for most attractions can be bought on base at a great discount. The Air Force base up the road a bit has breakfast and dinner at lower then McDonald prices. I see why so many campers just what to stay. We will be back, and thank you for a great visit.

Stayed at Short Stay Sept. 12 thru the 19th. Did not know there was a camp ground with so many amenities for the military. Mr. Boyd, the Director of Short Stay, is a great asset to the facility. He has many idea's that will make Short Stay, a place that will be used by every family camping. If you haven't been here yet, don't let it pass you by. I will be back, and will bring other military veterans.
