Although we did not make it by the 5 p.m. closing time, we were able to find an open site, and use the sewer line. This was our greatest need for the night stay seeing as our tanks were full from the previous night. The next morning we went to pay, and learned that if we had spoken to the gate guards we would have received a key for the other utilities. Not a big deal but good to know for our next visit when we reserve a site. The campground was pretty full for a week day, the base is well kept but pretty empty of personnel when the national guard is not drilling. Very nice little guard base!

This park has been radically changed for "renovations". It appears that they simply pulled everything up, graded it off, and put in a great little sea wall. Unfortunately this location has great potential and is essentially just gravel parking lot with 41 sites in line. They allow generators, and most campers had large, cheap, loud generators running making the location loud. Our neighbors started up an old generator in their motor home, and filled our site with exhaust. We just decided it was time to leave. On the positive side, the shower facilities and store are great.

We enjoyed our overnight at this Famcamp. The location is very convenient to interstate 15 which we were traveling. After a quick set up, we had easy access to all the base facilities and made use of the commissary, and exchange. Host was very friendly, and efficient. The bathrooms were very clean, warm, but one of the showers needed a plumber for repair. The camp has everything you will need plus a view of the mountains and our heroes in the air!

My family loved this location. The beach was one of the most wild we have experienced. Baby seals frolicking in the great waves birds preening the white sands were regularly seen. On the other east side of the campground is a wetland. We had a very relaxing family vacation here. We noted the engine test facilities right next to the campground, and it appeared as if they were still in use, but not during our stay.

It was the 4th of July and the campground was packed! Considering it is in the middle of Camp Pendleton the location is pretty good. The lake is nice, and lots of good trails for a walk. Even some fishing in the lake. There is a new play ground that my kids loved, probably the best we have ever seen. The staff at the registration desk were great, but the campground host is a bit gruff. Then again he probably needs to be. Now for the bad news. The shower/bathroom facilities were a mess, and for all the sites you would think that one shower would not be considered adequate. This campground needs to have the SeaBees pay it a visit, or maybe some engineers to level the sites and build a better bathroom facility. Very few sites have full hook-ups.
