This was our first time and location very good for shopping. We were in site 50 on East side and preferred this. Nice dog park and clean laundry room. Sites are long and wide.
Would definitely recommend coming in the Eubanks gate in spite of what GPS tells you. Very convenient to camp. Also, there is a newer Walmart on Wyoming a mile north of the exit. Costco is just north of Eubank gate next to older Walmart. Staff helpful and friendly. Will definitely return. John and Amy Stanton

This was our first visit. We were in site 86 which was perfect. Sites are spacious and afford privacy with trees and shrubs. Campground is very well maintained and staff on the ball and very friendly. This is definitely one of the best campgrounds we have stayed. Good location for touring the area. Recommend Red Rock Canyon and Valley of the Fire and also Hoover Dam. All within an hours drive. Commissary and Exchange very good and located across LV Blvd either through Main Gate at end Of Craig road or gate across from Range gate. We enjoyed watching the Thunderbirds and flight training. We plan to return end of 2013. Also want to mention dog park next to office is good and there are lots of dog stations in the park for bags and waste. Feel this is one of the cleanest parks we have stayed. Nice walking path around the park for exercising of dogs. Laundry facilities are clean as are the restrooms and showers. This is for sure first class operation and we have no complaints. Thanks to all the staff. Amy and John Stanton

This is definitely on our list for return. Location is perfect for shopping, beach, attractions etc. Staff most helpful for securing information and obtaining tickets for attractions. Campground is very clean with nice and free laundry. Did see several coyotes, blue heron, egrets and lots of ground squirrels. We were in site 44, large, full hookups and quiet. Had no problem with critters or bugs. We used Petsmart for boarding and daycare when needed. They are located off 605 and Carson. Very good facility and would use again. Grocery of preference was in the Pavilions Shopping Center, Von's since they honor Safeway for gas discounts. Only 5 minutes away on Pacific Hwy. Seal Beach is also only 5 minutes away and beach is very nice with pier. Restaurants and some local shopping on Main. Chevron on Westminster and Seal Beach honors the gas discount. Thanks to all who made our stay nice. Amy and John Stanton

This was our first visit and found it to be very nice and friendly. The host, Steve, met us directing us to our site and answering all our questions. We inquired about washing the RV and were told we could use the RV dump site which we did before setting up in site #38. This would be nice if all camps would offer this service. Found the laundry room very clean and efficient. The on across from the office has gas dryers. Did not check out the one in the office building. Commissary and Exchange very convenient off California Ave toward the Main gate. Exchange and gas on Community and Commissary on Utah. Not a problem coming in Lompoc gate. Guards friendly. We will definitely return. Amy and John Stanton

This was our first stay and certainly will not be our last. The location was perfect for things we wanted to do in area such as visiting SF and missions. Campground, laundry, facilities very clean and staff most helpful and accommodating. We had to alter our reservation twice and no problem. Good dog walking area. Just wish owners were more diligent about cleaning up after their dogs. Rabbits are cute and fun to watch. Commissary etc very convenient. Thanks again to all who made this a nice stay. This is our second visit and certainly won't be our last. We were in site 77 near laundry and bathhouse. Excellent free wi-fi and satellite friendly. Sites are large, well maintained and great recycle program. Would suggest that on checking in, this be mentioned. There is also for larger items, a good recycle area near the Exchange. The frequent trains are not a negative. Great area for shopping and restaurants and sightseeing. Staff is most friendly and informed. One of our favorite campgrounds. Once again we had John Goodwin of mdforrv's do a fixed over the air antenna. Last time we had him install a satellite dish. Another plus is washing of RV permitted. Look forward to our next visit.

This was our second visit. The laundry room is still in need of attention. The two dryers were out of order and from what I understand, have been for a while. We were in site 2 across from bath and laundry in wooded area. No satellite and poor cable. Excellent commissary and exchange. Good location for visiting area.

This was our first visit and will probably return. Good location for touring area. Nice view of Narragansett Bay..quiet. Easy access to base except gate 17 closed on weekends. Must use main gate. Had a tick problem. Guess they can't spray. Would be nice if they could at least install dump station and maybe bathhouse. Used laundromat on hwy next to Buddy's hardware south of Green road. Appears they could add more sites.

This was our first stay and will definitely return. Our site was 11 next to the battery high on cliff with awesome view of ocean. Our Verizon MI-FI worked great. Staff very friendly and available..good office hours. Laundry good, but feel $2.50 for washer and $2.50 for dryer a bit much but handy. Beach is great for walking and collecting unusual stones..also dog friendly. Walk on bay side nice also. Short drive to grocery store in Marshfield on 139 and Furnace. Super Wal-Mart is in Plymouth just off Hwy 44 west..exit 7 on 3. There is a Lowe's on 139 just past Hwy 3.Be sure and try Mary Lou's coffee at Shell on 139 toward 3. Even had a deer visit one day. Great location for going into Boston or driving the Cape.Hated to leave the serenity and view.

This was our first stay and would definitely return. Great location for touring West Point, Hudson River Valley and historic sites. Commissary and Exchange very convenient to campground. In spite of not having wifi, satellite and full hookup, still enjoyed stay. Our site was C12 next to Bathhouse and laundry and dump. Probably the best area. C13 also good. We have outside antenna and mi-fi, so could access cell and internet. We got Fox news through sirius xm radio. Only suggestion is that they have recycle bins; however, you can take to the exchange. By the way not a problem driving in with tow.

This was our first visit and certainly not our last. Great location for visiting Charleston and surrounding area. Wes, the camp host was most helpful in taking us to site and giving us info on campground and area. Sites are concrete (we were on 23) full hookups, very clean and campground is well lighted. Commissary and Exchange well stocked and convenient to campground. Also, the MWR sells the Frequent Camper Logbook that includes the latest edition of Military Campgrounds book for $30. We have been trying for 3 years to find one. MWR next to campground is well stocked and even has nice rock climbing wall. Amy and John Stanton

This was our first stay arriving 24 February for 2 weeks on site 28. Definitely not our last as this is at top of list. Staff very helpful and friendly. Great location and enjoyed the serenity and entertainment of watching ships enter and leave. Beach affords a nice walk and is dog friendly. The Roost clubhouse was great for gatherings, pancake breakfasts on every other Saturday morning, free coffee and ice cream socials. Dog walk spacious with good supply of bags. Next time hope to get front row to have better view of ships. Laundry room one of the cleanest and free. Never had to wait. GPS will try and take you into gate on A1A, but correct GPS for Mayport gate is 30.37741 081.41029. This at end of wonderwood rd. Also we found the St John's ferry easier than going through Jacksonville if coming from the north or departing for the north.
Also, be sure and visit Fort Clinch on Amelia Island..again take the ferry to A1A. Beautifully restored fort. We looked at Osprey Cove while there, but decided Pelican Roost is the best. Looking forward to our next visit.

This is our 2nd stay and certainly will not be our last. Great location and sites spacious. We had #48 adjacent to beach. Laundry very clean and efficient with all washers and dryers working. No problem to get key from office. This is one of the few dog friendly beaches in Florida. Easy walking distance to Lighthouse. Be sure and visit Fort Barrancas and Naval Museum on base. Staff very friendly and helpful. Had a great and fun New Year's party and potluck dinner New Year's day. We prefer this site to the Blue Angel Recreation site. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

This is our first visit and certainly won't be our last. It is one of the nicest FamCamps we have stayed. The spaces are very large and convenient affording privacy. Staff very friendly and helpful and the overall setting very serene in spite of the trains. Even saw 2 Elk near the BX. Weather was perfect. Spent several days touring the Academy and other local sights. Yes, would rate it a 10 for sure. Amy and John Stanton

We stayed here 9 September for 3 nights and found it very quiet and clean. Our space was 8 and close to laundry. Toured the Dam area, but did not go into Mountain Home. There was a host on duty and were told to pick any spot available. Would stay here again. Amy and John Stanton
