Stayed until June 07, 2009. Had a great spot overlooking the ocean. Only problem was I requested a 50 amp site and was assigned a 30 amp site. Fortunately the temp was very cool and I could run my rig on 30 amps. I found the camp personnel less than informative. Needed some rv supplies. Their store was useless and they had no idea of the location of any rv dealers. I would stay again since I now know the answer to these questions.

Very ignorant people. Asked at gate for directions. Was directed to the fort's recreation area. They are in progress of building a rv campground. Not ready yet. They had no idea of any other rv sites on the post. Pulled away from the rec area and was flagged down by a civilian employee. He took me to the rv spaces. They were located in a "parking lot" next to transit barracks. Finally found the check in office. They assigned my a space that was blocked by parked vehicles. No signs posted to forbid POV parking in the spaces. I feel that the most they should have charged would be $5-6, not the $20. Personnel were friendly but as stated before, totally ignorant. This is ok for a one night stay but only if the price was lowered.

Stayed 8 days in a 34ft 5th wheel. Camground is beautiful! Site are very wide; paved; with concrete patio. Bath house looks brand new. Tiled floor and floor to ceiling tile on walls. Three washers and three dryers in laundry. Very reasonable cost to wash clothes. You are just minutes away from the ALAMO, the RIVER WALK, Buckhorn Saloon. Park and walk to all three within minutes. The staff at the Fam Camp are extremely friendly, cooperative, and knowledgeable. However, no cable. No Wifi. Just a small playground for kids. No pool. No shade. But, we'd go back...
