Location is top notch - close to town and can get to Kingsville to see King Ranch in less than an hour. Drove of to Padre Island and drove around easily for the day. Park is quiet and right on the water. As with most of Texas wind blows all the time but that keeps heat from Rest rooms/laundry clean. We would definitely come back. We came in South Gate all the way to the end, made a right and took us to the park, had to go up to marina to check in (this was easier for us to maneuver our 40 ft coach with car in tow). Thanks main gate for hint.

This is a beautiful park. Base is undergoing lots of road construction and it has been hard to get around base. Staff has been friendly, we were planning on 5 days and had mechanical problem with coach and ended up staying longer; staff was great accomadating us for longer stay and referring us assistance with finding parts to fix our slide. Nice level cement pads and laundry on each side of ca mp. If you have medical problems (surgery) VA does lots of back surgery. Location is close to downtown area and 2 golf courses on base.
