R.L. left this review using the Directory software: - A great place, quiet, pleasant surroundings, close to the base for commissary and BX, an easy drive to the Lincoln birth and boyhood sites. The new laundry, lounge and bathrooms were spotless.

R.L. left this review using the Directory software: - We made our reservation under the old system and when we arrive 4 days later it was the first day the new system was in effect. The folks at blg 5 went ahead and checked us in anyway, saving us a trip up to the hotel. At the campground we found our assigned site already occupied. Someone drove down immediately and assigned us a new spot.

D.B. left this review using the Directory software: - I had no problem getting in here twice. We are on an extended stay, and been with Sturgis Rally there were still spaces. The camp host and staff at outdoor rec are very eager to assist. I would highly recommend this FAMCAMP as a must stay if in the area.

F.D. left this review using the Directory software:- Visited in July 2012 and found this park to be a jewel. It is located in a beautiful wooded setting that makes you just want to stay and relax. All sites have concrete pads, picnic table and a fire pit. Fire wood is free. Showers and rest rooms were impeccable. The camp hosts, Gene and Vicky, were most cordial and accommodating. One evening severe storm warnings were being issued. Gene went to each campsite, in the rain, to ensure everyone was aware of the impending storm. The only negative would be the lack of an onsite sewer hookup, although a dump station is close by. Thanks to Camp Ripley for a truly wonderful RV park. Frank & Mary

L.R. left this review using the Directory software: - This FamCamp is fantastic! Staff are more than helpful and accommodating. I arrived a couple of hours early and they went to see if my assigned site was vacate. It was so I was allowed to check in. My only negative comment concerns the Air Force Academy's medical facility. I went to get two prescription refilled. The clerk, at AFA's Community Pharmacy, said they would have to call the original pharmacy to get the prescriptions transferred and it would take at least 72 hours. Wal-Mart had it done in 2 hours! Despite the AFA's medical facility, I would stay at Peregrine Pines again.

We called ahead and were told one site was available but it was first come, first served as there are no reservations. We arrived at 1900 hours and were greeted by the camp host Royal Jones ... a real pleasure to talk to. After giving us all the info, he showed us the site which worked very well for our 37 foot coach. The bathrooms, showers, laundry and Rec room were immaculate. This is truly one of Ft Knox's best kept secrets as my father was stationed there, I was and my son was and I never heard of it before I learned of it on Military Campgrounds. I will be returning my next trip north.

D.B. left this review using the Directory software: - We arrived at 2000 hours ... missed the gate. When we got turned around and attempted to enter we learned that we had to use gate 2 which was closed for the evening. The Base Security team worked with us (thank you all) and we were able to snake the coach in the out gate side. We were told there was no site available but we could RON at the ball field parking lot which was next to the FamCamp. When we pulled up we were greeted by the camp host and she told us they had one site available and it was big rig friendly. We did not open our slide or connect to the water ... just 30 AMP electric. Showers were clean and the price of $12.00 for the evening was great! I recommend getting there and set up before dark ... much easier!! We hope to be back in the future.

G.C. left this review using the Directory software: - The camp host is very good. Moves you from dry camp to full hookups as soon as possible, dry camp was pretty good with 30 amp electric.

D.S. left this review using the Directory software: - Mostly homesteaders, some bushes need cutting, sell the pine trees and use the funds to plant good trees and improvements. This park is a well kept secret, space 1 and some others are a tight turn for large motor homes to enter.

J.P. left this review using the Directory software: - Spent the 4th of July week here with my sister brother in law. I had reserved two spaces, Sis got in first and we had side by side spaces. No trees to interfere with the sat TV signal, my ATT aircard had problems, the amount of visitors over the 4th overwhelmed the network. Going to the beach and back up the hill is a good workout, I didn't drive down as ALL parking is on the beach, and I'm not interested in the salt residue on the 2012 Super Duty. The Dining Room is great, a good selection and prepared well. Lots of items in the Gift Shop. We'll return.

J.P. left this review using the Directory software: - Spent one night here. Great location, getting a 33' fifth wheel towed by a long wheelbase truck into a site is moderately difficult. However when I stopped by the clubhouse after dinner when I asked the night manager about an ATM, and perhaps package sales or a mini mini-mart catering to the Campground, I was informed that none of that would happen, and "Enjoy it now, it's (the Campground) going to be removed".

R.O. left this review using the Directory software: - I stayed at the Gateway FamCamp which is just outside the main gate of Malmstron AFB. The facilities appear to be well maintained and the host "Mel" was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the rates at this FamCamp were raised from last year's rate of $19.00 to $24.00. It appears this increase and possibly other factors such as the overall economy have caused the occupancy rate to be much lower than previous years. It would seem the Wing Commander may be trying to use the revenue from this facility to support other unfunded activities on post. I will avoid this FamCamp until the pricing is restructured.

J.E. left this review using the Directory software: - For all of you that couldn't seem to find the combination of how to to get along with "that woman that ran the campground", she is now retired. Most of the improvements from the Twin Lakes CG can be attributed to her. We have found frustrations over the past 20 years but always come back. It is still an excellent Famcamp relative to most base facilities.

A.C. left this review using the Directory software: - Campground is currently undergoing installation of new water pipes and the sites are hard to access at times to say nothing of the mess. Additionally the bathouse is being redone and as a consequence only one shower/toilet facilities are available for the entire campground. The laundry facilities are also undergoing refurbishment so no washers or dryers are non existent at this time. We have managed but it would be nice if we were told this before we made the reservations here. Also the rates are not as advertised on the website (Fort Fishers or the Campground Directory). They should update the info. Not sure when the construction work will be done.
