Was close to the sea wall and when the wind (always) came out of the north we had a lot of salt water spray on the RV. Luckily the MWR personal (very helpful) allowed us to wash our unit as long as we did not use any detergent. Will return.

P.C. left this review using the Directory software: - The facilities are nice - nothing fancy but much more than just adequate. Web site says weekly rate is $100 but we were charged $120 and $120 is posted in the office. Spaces are large; power is good; our water pressure was fine; campground is extremely clean and well kept. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Commissary and BX are good - we never felt the need to go to the AFB for shopping. WiFi is only OK - tends to go in and out fairly frequently. We won't return for 1 reason: planes, trains and automobiles - you get noise from all of them. It's not the CG fault of course, but this is the noisiest place we have ever stayed. Trains with loud whistles 24/7; heavy truck traffic on an adjacent road; sirens day and night; most irritating - a local off base "recreation center" next door to the Pass Road gate plays music and literally ear shattering levels several times a week. Since it's only a few hundred yards from the CG you get full "benefit" of their music selections. A shame since otherwise this would be a really good place to stay.

B.C. left this review using the Directory software: - The new section was added and opened in Nov 2012. More pull throughs and Handicap. Slabs level and less trees then old section but easy to park your rig.

R.M. left this review using the Directory software: - We stopped for just a night. A clean, well organized place to park your RV & hook up. There are some long time residents but it is clean. They have nice shower rooms, concrete parking and pad/picnic table area. Right across the street from a Gas station, mini-mart/liquor store & an adjoining Subway. Right off the freeway. It works for me.

J.W. left this review using the Directory software: - We made reservations by calling 14 day prior to our planned arrival date. Had to call two morning before we got a confirmed reservation. Check-In was quick and easy considering the level of activity. There was a mix-up on the site assignment but the staff quickly resolved it. Their policy of allowing you to wash off the road dirt, salt and film on your RV at your site is a pleasant surprise. There were a lot of activities planned by the staff for campers. The facilities were excellent. We will definitely come back next year for a longer period.

R.M. left this review using the Directory software: - It's been expanded to 35 hookup spots, the new ones did not have CTV. Not a bad place to stop with a Commissary & Exchange on base. Still a lot of people homesteading from the looks of things. A good laundry rooms, good showers. We spent two nights as we were waiting for tires to come arrive at a shop in Alamogordo (15 miles) and would have no problem coming back.

R.L. left this review using the Directory software: - We stayed in the Marina campground. Nice location and the staff treat you great. It's a bit tight among the pine trees but we really enjoyed this park. Nice restaurant/club across the street from the marina. We'll be back.

D.W. left this review using the Directory software: - We fully enjoyed our two weeks at Pelican Roost. Watching the US Navy ships come and go was a neat experience, especially for a Army retiree. We will return some day. We highly recommend this FamCamp for a stopover or extended stay. We paid $18 for W/E/S, add $2 for a front row site, near the water. The camp usually offers CATV however during our visit the system was undergoing upgrade and not available. Diesel is available at the NEX gas station.

J.H. left this review using the Directory software: - 5 sites (on L) are for short term stays and are full hook-ups/pull-thrus. Recommended that you drive to office first-and do a 180° turn back to sites. A campground map is available now, and they will take reservations.

R.L. left this review using the Directory software: - Staying here currently after being at Pelican Roost (Mayport) for 2 weeks. Big disappointment. No office or host onsite. Pads are not level. Normal general delivery mail at the post office works fine. Needed to order something from amazon.com. RV office told me to us MWR RV Park and my space number and UPS would deliver to my site. Wrong answer. I checked with the MWR Warehouse, base warehouse, commisary and finally the NEX warehouse where UPS actually delivered. I understand this could simply be a mistake on UPS part but my advice on packages is to find a local home address to have packages delivered to.

W.M. left this review using the Directory software: - Fantastic park and easily accessible off I-295. Free washers/dryers and WIFI. Beautiful clubhouse with full kitchen facilities, large screen TVs and guest computers. Ed and George were great campground hosts and took great pride in their work! Our day trips included Amelia Island, Fernandina Beach and St Augustine. One of the nicest military RV parks we've ever visited.
