Wonderful campground with large sites and plenty of open space between them. We found the hosts and staff to be very friendly and accommodating. Great to tour the USAF Academy and nearby Royal Gorge. Didn't get a higher rating because of the noisy trains next to the campground.

We used this base as a short term storage for our motorhome when we took a trip overseas for a month. We stayed in dry camp the first couple of days as full hook ups were taken. We made arrangements with staff to place our rig in storage, $30 for the month, then we moved the rig to the fenced lot they told us to go to. We felt our rig would be very secured while we were gone; on base, and in a locked facility. When we returned we were lucky enough to get a full hook up site. Campground is almost always full.

Dry camped here for a week. Camped right on the bay in dry camping site. Quiet sites with good view of the bay.

Campground is on or against the beach. Busy place and a little noisy. We had armored personal carriers driving down the road early in the morning 10' from our rig.

A pleasant location, but RV sites are a bit rustic. Electric is minimal, with hookups located in various locations. Plenty of pine trees on slight hills, which can make parking difficult. The emphasis appears to be on the lodging and not the RV sites, which is very nice. Not big rig friendly. Although, we didn't have much problems with our 36' Class A.

Nice, large and level concrete RV sites. Too full for us to stay, so we just visited for an hour.

Didn't have reservations and overflow was also full. They made room for us on the grass, dry-camped. We had a very pretty spot with a view of the lake out our window. Nice campground and base.

Very nice RV park with a very friendly staff. They've started expansion and have added 15 additional FHU sites, although no concrete patios at them yet. Some sites are spacious, while some are pretty close together. The laundry room is also a bit cramped. Still a premium RV park.
