A clean, affordable campground if you're in the area. While most of the sites are real close together (look at the photo), the stay policy and prices are great. These are the rates we expect from a military benefit. Be sure to check into the museums and flight line tour.

An "okay" place to stop for the night. The workers were real friendly and the office is open long hours. We were lucky to get a FHU site, considering they only leave 2 sites open for short term visitors. Prices are high for this park, as there's no amenities. $10/night to park in a dirt field is outrageous! Especially since there's no restroom or shower. Unfortunately, I get the impression this RV Park is mainly interested in making money and is treated as base housing. Over 90% of the sites are occupied by long-term residents.

We stopped by to take a look and get updated information for the website, but didn't spend the night. Dennis, the assistant manager was very friendly and helpful. As previously mentioned, this is an older campground with smaller camp sites that are close together. There are a few larger sites for 40' RV's, and a few that are real nice, large, and private. Our impression was this is a nice recreation area, not neccessarily a destination RV Park. Most people we talked to were there for the fishing, which they say is great! They were catching bass in a short time, directly from the dock! You can rent a 10hp fishing boat for $20 a day. If you want a relaxing place to camp, fish, and explore the lake, this is the best deal in this part of the country.

Since we arrived in the middle of "snow bird" season, the campground was 100% full. However, they went out of their way to fit us in, making a dry-camp spot for us. The host and campground manager both stated "they don't want to turn anyone away". We stayed in January a couple years ago and the dry camp area was huge, with only a few RV's staying. As previously mentioned, they recently converted almost the entire dry camp area into 22 FHU sites. There's plenty of free dry camping nearby in the desert. But here, we could dump, get fresh water and do laundry. The "Cactus Cafe" was good also. Nice campground with very friendly staff (I met Bruce and Diana) and guests. A GREAT value and we would love to return and spend a few months here.

We stopped by just to visit. Only overflow sites were available anyway. Dale, the camp host was very friendly and a big help. There's a TON of activities at this park, although not much to outside of the base. This park seems like it would be a great place to spend the winter at, and a GREAT value. It also appears the base is giving the park support and positive attention.

Campground was almost full with snowbirds. "Chuck", the camp host greeted me as I drove up. He works hard to have a decent FamCamp, but doesn't get paid or even a free site. Utilities are sometimes in awkward positions and some still have a few problems. We didn't have any problems with our 50amp site. Basically, an affordable, no frills place to spend the night or more. At $7 a night, it's better than many commercial places. Much more secure.

I wouldn't consider it very rustic. The campground is in the trees and doesn't have concrete pads. But otherwise very nice, clean, and quiet. A beautiful base. No 50amp electric.

After reading all of the previous somewhat mixed reviews, I was eager to visit this FamCamp myself. We spent 2 nights and now have a better understanding of the previous reviews. The manager was on vacation for a month, with nobody minding the campground. We had to do a self check-in. The campground office/community room was also closed during our visit. All of the previous reviews are correct. It's not the best FamCamp we've visited, and probably not the worst available. It appears base managment doesn't pay much attention to the campground. We were surprised that the Services Squadron, Outdoor Recreation didn't fill in while the manager was on vacation. It appears the manager (Howard?) is the only person keeping this campground operational. Regardless of any negative comments I, or others have made, this is still a good place to spend some time at. It is average and the same as many other other military campgrounds. We will stay again when in the area.

After spending a week at Laughlin FamCamp, came to the marina campground for a few days. Without the aircraft, it was a quieter location. But it's also on top of an open hill. We had to deal with wind almost all the time. Wild deer were constantly in the campground. Half of the campground is along a public road to a boat ramp, where trucks are constantly speeding. Still, a nice campground we would return to.

Since we didn't have any reservations, we ended up in overflow. Pretty windy while we were there.

Nice RV park. I heard rumurs they planned to expand to cover the closing of a nearby AFB. Although it's probably fair, we didn't care for the 2 washing machine limit. Sure makes laundry take twice or more as long. But they're free!

VERY nice campground. Long pull-through sites with privacy fences between sites. Good deal for full hookups, including Telephone, CATV and FREE laundry. We really liked this camp!

VERY nice, clean, and modern campground. Made sure we arrived early to get a site. No problems at 1:00pm, but the park did get full later. Our only negative is the park's proximity to a freeway and the car noise. As big as Ft. Bliss is, I wonder why the RV park wasn't located in a quieter part of the base.

Only stopped by for a visit, but sites were available. Nice campground with a very friendly host. Nothing fancy, but a decent place to spend some time.

Since summer is hot, it's the slow season. No problems getting a full hook-up site. We also had a full 50 amps. Sites vary on type, size, and location of hook-ups.
