Beautiful park you can look out your window and see all the navy ships going in and out of the pass. Blue angles flying over head and practice for there shows, had a great time. Will visit the park again.

Cutbacks in MWR funds can be felt but this is still a great place. Rained alot but all the negatives are overshadowed by the positives.

First visit and we will return. Loved the paved parking. We were visited by the camp host several times while we were there. Everybody was very friendly. The bath house on Battle Ship roll was good. They are building an new one and adding more paved lots. Quite place to rest. Might be a little off the beaten path but worth the stay.

This park used to be jewel of military campgrounds. Have stayed here alot in the past but this will be my last time here. The place is overgrown with tall grass in the camping areas. The restrooms on the Anchor side are disgusting. The manager of the park seems to care more about the disc golf and the civilians that use the golf facilities than the rest of the park or the military personnel that this park is supposed to serve. I am retired navy and feel that the Air Force should take over care of this facility or sell it to the state of Florida to preserve it. There is little or no security here and the camp hosts are super nice but don't seem to care about enforcing the rules sometimes. The people that work at the registration office are super nice and are one of the only bright spots left at this park.

Only spent two nights in campground A, and thought the grounds looked fine. There were a lot of leaves which can't be helped this time of year. Jerry and Dalores (camp host/hostess) were very friendly and helped us get parked without hitting any trees. This campground and campground B are both located in a very wooded area off base and have a very nice beach area (small but very nice). Most people clean up after their pets but some don't. Walking through all the leaves can sometimes leave you with an extra bit of a surprise if you don't watch your step (thanks to those that do not clean up after their pets). One very nice restaurant is the Shrimp Basket on Perdido Key! There are several other places that are nice also and not hard to find.

Very quiet and peaceful. My biggest complaint is that the management could care less about the upkeep of the CG. Weeds are knee high, fire rings never cleaned, street lights half out along with the lights on the power hookups. We stay here quite often and it is a beautiful area and a good price - word is the manager is more interested in the disc golf than the campers. Camp hosts are in each area (A and B) but other than getting a free site they don't do anything that anyone can see. Same pieces of trash blowing around the CG for the past 2 months. Restrictions on the B side require individuals to leave (no homesteading) at least once during the summer months but it is a known fact there are two or three individuals that are permanent residents. Why? Something about their CO writing and getting an exemption - wonderful - at least one of them is drawing full BOQ and the other is a retired Navy working for a DOD contractor. This could be a top notch CG if managed properly - too bad the Air Force doesn't run it. I am a retired MCPO and it's a shame not more attention is given to this facility.

This campground is way off the beaten track from the Navy base. Grocery store nearby is ok. Parked in the old camp where you have electric and water but sites are a bit narrow. Says you are on the beach but had trouble envisioning what they meant with the small strip of sand on the bay [not the ocean like we thought]so we were disappointed. Registering - guy was in a hurry to go someplace I guess because he was very rude. We left there and drove on to Gulf Shore Alabama and staid at the State Park there for $21 a night - far better deal and 1 mile from the white sands and beautiful shore.

After being in NOLA for Mardi Gras any quiet place would be fine. But this c/g is really great. Loved the way we could pull in and sorta make your own campsite (on the grassy side). The shower facility could use a major upgrade. But for everything else about the park it's tops. Easy in easy out. If you can get into the "good sites" then you have it made. But when in Pensacola area, we'll be back.

All staff & camp ground hosts were very friendly & helpful. Stayed in Anchor Cove (30A,water & dump site nearby, sandy & shady sites) one nite then transferred to Battleship row (30-50A,water,sewer, concrete pads & shade) where we stayed 4 more nites. Both areas were clean, but Anchor bath house is very worn, badly needs replacing. Battleship Row bath house in much better shape. Perdido Bay view from both CGs. Beaches within a few yards in both CG areas, boat rental(pontoon, fishing, sail & kayak) mini store, small indoor work out area, mini golf course. Many other area attractions plus Naval Aviation Museum, Navy Exchange, Navy commissary, Navy hospital & VA clinic within easy driving range. Both CGs are a very good value. This was our 2nd visit & we will return

We really like this campground. It is very quiet this time of year. The A side has a lot of openings but the B (Battleship Row) side is full. I guess everyone wants sewer hookups. Water and 30 amp power is good enough for us and the price is right, plus the view of the bay is outstanding. The dump station is convenient when we need it. The staff at Marina/Camp Store is very friendly. The young woman running the store stayed late after we checked in at 4 p.m. (closing time) so I could pick up some ice. It must be a great location in the summer when you can take advantage of the nice beach, boating, and fishing.

We stayed on Battleship Row in a prime slot. Arriving in Sept. enabled us to slip into a prime slot, on the front row, with a view of the water. Leaving today, 21 of Oct., every slot is now filled with people in for the winter, the next 3-4 months. Had a great time. We did not use the bath house or laundry facilities so could not rate them. However, the one thing that was so outstanding about the location of this area is the close proximity of the commissary and exchange facilities. There is also a beautiful park within 10 miles with the bay on one side and the gulf on the other for day use. A must see is the Naval Aviation Museum, which is free, donations accepted. The camp ground does have wi fi but we did not use it and others said you had to pay and that it was not very good. For those that have children or those young at heart, there is cinema by the bay every Sat. night at no charge. Mostly G rated movies shown but it was fun and something different. Be sure and bring your own chairs, bleachers are all that is provided. Lastly, there is a weekly news bulletin put out that is delivered to your front door. We definitely plan on coming back.

We were pleasantly surprised to get a prime site in the B section looking straight into the Bay. Sites are level with plenty of room between them. Great location for bike riding, bird watching & relaxing. If in the area again, would definitely stay here.

Our family went down from Ft. Benning, GA. to Blue Angels and stayed on the Anchor cove side. Although rustic and nearly full (it was July after all), we found that a few of the camp sites on the back did not have power. This limited our choice of working campsites to use. The bathhouses were clean, but could have used some renovation or updating. The beaches were o.k., but the amenities were few. All that aside, my wife and the kids loved it. The DJed music was wonderful. There is nothing like dancing with your sweetheart under the stars, near the ocean, under a big bright moon. We ended up wanting to stay longer, but eventually had to return home. The staff seemed very helpful with side excursions in and around the Pensacola area. Word of advice: make reservations 4 to 6 weeks in advance if not earlier. We haven't stayed on the Battleship Row side yet, so we can't comment about the "newer side" of the CG. Enjoy!

We made a day trip here and didn't stay overnight. The folks at the gate were very friendly, gave us a map and pointed out locations of various activities. There are two campgrounds. We only checked out Battleship Row with full hookups. We did not drive through Anchor Cove so can't comment on it. Battleship Row met my standards with paved roads and sites. Restrooms and laundry was clean. There are plenty of things to do here. They have two mini golf courses, marina, boat ramps, beach, boat rentals, tennis and other. This is an old seaplane base so there is a lot of concrete. The only negative is the distance from NAS Pensacola, 15 miles.

Fourth time staying in Anchor Cove. Great place to stay, however "A" side needs improvement. Dead trees and limbs need cutting. Electrical needs upgrades and bath house facilities are old and worn out. Without sewer hookups, a bath house is a very needed facility. The day I arrived, I was very lucky indeed to get a site. The dulcimer group was in as well as the SMART group. Only site big enough for my 40ft motor home was only vacant because a vendor(for the dulcimer group) left early. Military (retired or active duty) should be able to get in ahead of civilian groups. Was informed by one host that all proceeds from the area go to Jacksonville. If that's the case, someone needs to get some of that money back for improvements. Even with all the short comings, I still enjoy my stay at Blue Angel. I did stay on the "B" side briefly in Feb, 2008. Nice sites, full hookups, but much more expensive. WiFi didn't work the whole time. Several of us retirees found module in soffit dead. When we reported it nothing was serviced. Only reason we stayed in "B" side was arrived when raining cats and dogs and site was available. My active duty son and family stayed in one of the rental trailer units and found them to be a great deal with plenty of room. Two bedrooms with full kitchen and living area with a great deal of space to move around.

We decided to check into this campground as we heard such good things about the area when we had been at Tyndall FAMCAMP. We were able to get a very nice site in the older section of the campground. It was pleasant and peaceful. We decided to spend a few days here to wait out a storm that was passing through our travel route across TX. The cover of the trees block the majority of the wind so we were saved from the total effects of the weather. Enjoying wooded campsites, we really appreciated our surroundings. The campground was quiet and restful. The bath house/restrooms were not up to par though. I did ask one of the employees at the check in area about plans to upgrade these facilities and from what I understood, there are no plans in the near future for Anchor Cove to have upgraded bath house/restroom. The other facilities had limited "open" times so we did not take advantage of any of them. This campground is near NAS Pensacola and all the facilities of that base. One treasure we discovered there is the National Museum of Naval Aviation. This is a MUST SEE for anyone visiting the area. There is a wonderful overflow site right on the water at this campground also. We will definitely visit here again.

This is the third time we've stayed here on the "A" side, while passing though. I know nothing of the "B" side because I've never stayed there or been through it. The "A" side is fine for a short term (overnight/weekend) stay. The facilities are adequate, if somewhat down at the heels. And the price is right. My three stays have been spread over a period of two years and, sadly, each visit the facilities seem to be a little seedier. The prime example of things slowly degenerating is the bath house. It's a pair of single-wide trailers configured as toilet/bath house. One for women and one for men. While they are kept reasonably clean, they are just worn-out looking inside. A couple of the fiberglass shower stalls have been broken, then repaired with some brown epoxy stuff as a halfway measure. The floors are worn-out linoleum that should have been replaced years ago. The whole effect is "just keep it working well enough to get by..." Not much pride of ownership by the management. The campground is in a lovely setting, if they'd just take a little better care of things.

This is an old seaplane base converted into a recreation area. Stayed in older section since the new side was full. Sites are rough, sandy soil ruts easily, along with many trees make navigating through the camp an adventure. Good location for Pensacola and Mobile siteseeing. Would stay here again, but would call ahead and try to get the newer side.
